I have had black phones since my first iPhone which was a 3G in 2008 (still have it for a keepsake, hit by a bottle rocket in the side pocket of a pair of Carhartt's while working as a photo journalist in a bar outside a coal mine. )

I will go for matte black this time but had they done the deep blue color we saw in the leaks, I would have totally gone for that.

What color am I hoping for in the future? The purple-blueish color of a photovoltaic cell because that is what the body of the phone will be, I would pay extra for that!

Whenever I ride a crowded subway, I take the case off. It'll be much easier to show off the dark dual camera against a lighter iPhone back.
And back to my first post.

Pretty sure people will notice the new black colors (especially jet black) well before they notice an extra camera lens.

my family is moving from 2 gold,1 silver and 1 space grey 6 plus to
2 rose golds and 2 matte blacks.... its really surprising also i wanted matte black from gold ... since i use lifeproof nuud which is black and practicality my phone is black then while in case and i dont take it off unless its an function like an wedding, now just put any regular clear case and go since its water resistance

I dunno, I still think that no matter how black the black may be, people still don't notice it because it's just black. A black dual camera is much more noticeable on a light case.

Considering all the "black" iPhones now are just a slightly dark silver, I think black will stand out plenty.

I'm getting the gold. My 6 is Space Gray, and I'm just tired of the black face. Plus, the gold will match my gold iPad Pro and gold MacBook. I am thinking about getting a case with a clear back and black bumper. The black/gold combo on the MacBook 12" looks really sharp.

I like variety too. After 4 years of white face, which was after 3 1/2 years of black face, I'm back to black. The back color isn't as important since I keep the phone in a case.

I'm reading a lot of excitement for Jet Black and Matte Black, as expected and understood. Why no love for Silver or Gold? ;)
I have no clue, the original iphone was black, I don't want that. I like the new colors, so went with gold. Honestly it really doesn't matter because your going to cover it with a case anyway.

Year after year, we have this same circumstance. In 2013 it was the Gold rush, in 2015 it was the Rose Gold rush; every year the new color is always in demand.

If I were ordering today, I definitely would be going back to silver (if not gold). My silver iPhone 5S was a peice of art, and I went space gray last year for a change. I'd hate an all-black phone.

But I want to get back to a white faceplate, so most likely I'd be ordering silver today if I were in the game. Next year....

Because no one would know you have the new iphone......looks just like last years

Jet black - brings back memories of the wonderful 3GS
Black - Stealth mode = on
Rose Gold - OMG it's so special because it's pink

Silver - ehh it's plain, nothing defining about it
Gold - people might think I'm rich and snobby if I buy it.

Potential reasons for getting each phone

I went for rose gold this year. Gold was my decode choice. I had silver last year which was my second choice. Ironically last year rose gold was my least favourite but having seen it in the flesh it's become my first choice. Silver is a bit plain and black is boring.

I love silver with my 6s, but the jet black... it makes it feel more like a really new phone!

I'm in the IUP and they didn't have any black 7+ available so I ended getting a silver 128 7+ launch reservation. My first white face phone ever!

I like the silver! IF I upgrade I'm going with rose gold. I'm planning to upgrade next year for sure anyway if I don't like it. :)
