IF I actually sell/trade-in my 5 for the 5s (still doubtful...for my 1st time in iPhone history!), I will wait until all the smoke clears and they are stocking the stores. It requires some patience & some persistence calling stores every day, but it's far less stressful and almost a hunting adventure...getting there before the last one for that day is sold, since they will not hold an Apple device for you.

All this waiting in line...noooooooo!

Short question.

I would like to order the phone online in the 20th, however as I'm living in a foreign country and will be in the US only from the 19 October, I did ask my hotel if I can send the parcel to them. My hotel is offering this kind of services, but I'm wondering if the transporter will be able to deliver the parcel to a hotel (I will not be able to sign it).

Apple website mention that their is a "pre-sign" option, but it seems that's a paper that need to be sign and provide to the receiver (not a option as I will not been physically there).

Does anybody experience Apple shipment to a business adress? How does it work?

I was going to pre-order as well. My problem is the account is under my wife's name. She will not be able to go to the store. I am an authorized user and can do most things with the ATT account. Does anyone know if I will be able to go to the Apple Store or the ATT store and upgrade our three phones even if I am not the main person on the account? What info would I need to provide?

Call AT&T for a definitive answer.

Bryan

RadioShack.com doesn't even show the 5s as an available product.

You got that right. I would never depend on them for anything. Heck I would have to put a bag over my head to walk in the store in fear someone might see me!!!

If supplies are short, Radio Shack will be low on the priority list:rolleyes:

Don't think I could take a pre-order fro RadioShack seriously. To me it could be like those people last year that pre-ordered from their local Walmart. The Walmart stores would take like 20 pre-orders and then only get in like 5 phones so 15 people were out of luck. I'll just go to my carriers store a few hours early, seems I'd be more likely to actually walk out with a phone that way.

Already preordered. Radioshack was taking preorders.

RadioShack does not take pre-order right now. They just right down your name in priority list.
So whenever they get any phone, they call the customer and give them that iphone as per priority list.

Since last two year, it worked very well for me. they normally call on launch day that your iPhone is ready for first 10 people in priority list.

So theoretically you can use this as a backup option? Plan to order online with Apple (or other carrier) or wait in line but if something happens and that doesn't work you might have priority at Radio Shack to fall back on? If you get a phone elsewhere you can always tell RS you dont need anymore.

That is true. That's what i do every year. I normally call two RS in my area and put my name on priority list. One under my name and second store under my wife's name.

that's how i got iPhone 4 and 4S in past on lunch day.

Will we be able to order online and have it shipped? Or is it only order online for in-store pick up?

In the past it's usually been shipped/delivered as the default, with in-store pickup sometimes being available but not always.

I've got an Android phone right now that I'm very unhappy with. Going to replace it with an iPhone 5S, but I'm stuck waiting until I'm fully eligible in December. So I'm not going to get in on the initial mad dash... unless, of course, I feel like taking advantage of partial eligibility between now and then. Hmm.

i have a $50 coupon for any phone activation before the end of the year from best buy. going to buy it once the supply works itself out

I have to buy through AT&T because of the corporate discount I get, so it's either going to be waiting in line on launch day (probably not an option, as I have to be at work early), order online, or wait a few days. As I recall from the 3GS launch a few years ago the highest memory iPhone was easier to get than the ones with less. I'll probably pre-order a case, though. After carrying my last two iPhones in my pocket, I think I'm going back to a belt case/holster.

I get a discount on my plan with my employer as well - are you getting device discounts too? How can I figure out if I qualify for that?
