If Apple would have matched the color temperature to the display better and allowed for brightness control, haptic feedback and didn't insist on adding 'TrueTone' (which made it look ridiculous), I wouldn't have hated it as much.
It’s not about making the display look ridiculous- it’s about creating a consistent look and feel for all creative media.
Grant it, I wonder why True Tone is so drastic… in some areas.

But I do love a warmer tempature at night but I can’t use that while editing.

hot take - notch, lack of touch bar and black keyboard: Could we see in the not too distant future a version of this chassis without physical keys but actually a bottom touch screen to complement the non touch screen ?

People use FaceTime - and Zoom. I’d rather a notch so I can have more display room for my apps than no notch and all that unused space on top.

Grant it, I’d love a hole punch or a camera under the LED, but we will get over that!
I'd rather have a good camera without a notch.

IMO, the Touch Bar was part of the keyboard, and should have matched the keyboard's temperature, which was super white/cold on the 16" MBP. It just made the two clash. I also use color filters (and calibration) on most of my Apple products to add a more vibrant layer, since they tend to skew green/dingy out of the box. But, to each their own. What is sensitive to my eyes may not be noticeable to others.

I’ve seen a windows machine do that, and it was killer looking

hate that i have to look down press the expand, than i can lower or raise the volume/brightness. don't need it, won't miss it.
Although there are ways to improve the motion (mini swipes directly on the touchbar button) this is my preferred method of volume adjusting

Not for me it wasn’t. I love and still use the touchbar and prefer it over function keys which look archaic to me.
Same for me here, though Touch Bar was poorly implemented IMO. For instance I could use predictive text in Evernote & Messages but not in Outlook or OneNote??!!

It took me a while to get used to it but I like the touch bar. Getting rid of it seems to be bowing to criticism rather than innovative design. Maybe by the time I decide I must have a new MBP they will have brought it back again, like they have with the very innovative and very useful MagSafe charger connector.

This all seems so bizarre on Apples part to basically undo all the changes made in 2016 and take a step backwards. With Airplay and wireless tech with do people need a dedicated HDMI port so badly? The Touch Bar was a nice differentiator too.

HDMI just works. If you giving a presentation to 1000 pleople you don’t want to risk your display cutting out half way through because someone crashed the router.

I also enjoyed the TouchBar a lot. Putting BetterTouchTool on it is a game-changer with all of the data you could put on it. I also really liked the autocorrect as well as the volume and brightness sliders.

I’m sad to see it go but I guess enough people complained about it.

And I loved this ad:

As software developer you want to debug with the Function keys. With the Touch Bar your fingers always slide around on the Touch Bar then touching the wrong spot. You always have to look where you have to press, you can never feel it.

I am really happy they put back the keys which I can feel and hit right every time. I want one.

I find myself touching the screen sometimes, going back and forth from my iPad. Will they ever offer touch screen?
Nope, that's why they have the iPad and Magic Keyboard. Unless someone creates the ability to have an iPad using iPadOS when it's in use as a tablet, and the moment it's docked, it presents an OS GUI that for me, I'll stick to having both devices.

The touch bar was one of those things that I didn't see the value in at the start then simply by it being there, I used it more and actually found it useful for some tasks. Am I bothered it is gone? No.

HDMI doesn’t always work - depends on the system those presenters have installed - trust me!

Im not quite sure what apple is doing nowadays..

egpu support with blackmagic… then
no egpu support..

Touch bar.. suddenly no touchbar…

bringing back old sd/hdmi again…

what next? You really cant build or plan any future proof ”studio” because you really dont know what happens next with apple.

Im not sure, do they - in apple - know themselves either. they should give ”mac” for other companies to develope further. With apple mac is dead for sure…
