I'm thinking of ripping out my HD that came with my macbook 2012 pro and sticking in a 256 SSD. Being the limit of my tech knowledge, could anyone recommend a few 256 SSD's that would work and are relatively affordable. thanks

I went with the Crucial M4 256GB. The price was right when I bought it. Firmware can be upgraded on your Mac as well. I haven't experienced any issues with mine using Lion and now Mountain Lion.
