Wouldn't it be awesome if someone kicked the OP's door in, walked up, and snatched his iPhone 4 out of his hands and money slapped him in the face for the refund? I really wish that could happen.

The fact is, I KNOW this phone is top quality and if you went to the trouble of going through that preorder BS and DIDN'T do your research on what the iPhone 4 is and offers, then you're insane in the membrane.

Also, I really hope you're having reception issues and yellow dots all over your phone because you DO NOT deserve a quality iPhone 4 when all these more appreciative people still love their phones and have these issues.

And wait till apps that start to show that need the processor speed upgrade like imovie that will only run on an iphone 4. Its early, when the new apps that start to come out to take advantage, then you will be glad to have it.

It looks and feels very nice. The screen looks great.

However to be honest I am extremely happy with my Nexus One.

and I am even happier to be T-Mobile customer and not an AT&T customer.

While there are some improvements to the new iphone that are ahead of my Nexus, most of it honestly just feels like catch up and 6 months late at that.

Oh yeah and froyo is ****ing sweet.

went from 3gs, tried out EVO...and i am loving my new IPhone 4...its a great phone, stable, great camera, video. and the retina display is very eye-appealing!
funny how everyone was dying to pre-order, OCDing and now they are complaining...never ending cycle!

To be 12 again:cool:
Or just post like it

From a 3G, the 4 is a big difference in speed, the screen is great, like having a better camera and some video. From the 3G S, hubby says the screen is nice, a little faster, not much else seems different yet besides not being able to tell by feel which side is the front.

Of course, we sold the old 3G and 3G S for more than the two new phones cost us, so we're happy anyway.

I own a 3GS and I still do not a see a difference between the two except for the new design.

If you really can't see a difference between the two other than the design, then it's probably not the right choice for you to upgrade. Plus, that way you'll save some money -- and it means there is one more iPhone 4 available for somebody who wants it!

There are a ton of differences (obviously) but I think some people are 'choosing' not to acknowledge them -- which is fine as the 3GS is still a pretty sweet phone and I'm sure it'll serve you well! :)

In all honesty, my opinion is that these devices are aimed at the people coming from a model from two years back, ie. iPhone targeted at 3G users, 3GS targeted at original iPhone users, iPhone 5 at 3GS. Because the people with last year's phone (in this case, people with the 3GS) pretty much already have everything the new phone offers, it WON'T impress you. But for people coming off a 3G which has none of those features (it doesn't even record video), it's a breath of fresh air and a substantial upgrade. 3GS owners should save their money and wait for next year's release that adds whatever else people are going on about... a projector, or something?

OP, I feel the same way.

Just spent 45 minutes with the new iPhone in my hands at my local B&M store. As you can tell from my signature I'm a big Mac user.

The biggest thing that stood out for me is the new screen. Text is much sharper and it would be much more enjoyable to read on this device vs. my current 3G model.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the new thinness. I guess after reading all the initial reviews I was expecting it to be thinner. I mean, it's still very impressive, but I wasn't exactly wowed by the new thinness, and I guess I expected I would be.

The stainless steel wrap around antenna is a nice touch aesthetically, along with the dedicated side buttons, but that is just a small new feature.

As for the back. All the floor models in the Apple store seemed to have some sort of protective coating that were placed after the fact (unless they come shipped with this film on, which I'm thinking they don't). This makes sense to prevent scratches from wear and tear of people handling them in the store, but it also felt like the new back of the iPhone would be more susceptible to scratches vs. the current plastic backing of iPhone 3G/3GS (yes I'm aware of Apple's claims to how strong the back and front are). Again, I could be totally wrong on this one, but that's the impression I got from it.

Is it an upgrade from 3GS? Absolutely. But I can't say I personally felt the need to upgrade immediately. I think the fact that it still has a 3.5" screen makes it feel awfully similar to what I currently have, even though the new screen is clearly a huge improvement.

I'm going to take a hard look at the Droid X before making my decision. To be honest if I didn't love the way my iPhone handles music/podcasts so much I think I may lean towards the Droid X (I've had more dropped calls in less than 2 yrs with my iPhone vs. 12 years with Verizon wireless). But then again I can't really make such a proclamation until I've held both in my hands.

It's a nice upgrade for 3G users, but the 3GS is nearly as fast and I've never had any problems with my screen. I'll be waiting for the iPhone 5, or the option to switch to Verizon at some point this year. The better battery life is what makes me most want an iPhone 4 though, and I only expect it to be better next year.

I'm very, very impressed with it so far - but I did come from a 3G. The camera is amazing, some of the pictures I've taken are better than snaps from my fairly new Canon P&S! The display is crazy - I was blown away when I first used it. Oh, and it's obviously much, much faster than the 3G :p

The only downside I have is that most apps haven't been updated for fast app switching yet :(

As has been said by some others, having stepped up from a 3G I am finding the difference huge getting all the new features of the 3GS and 4 in one fell swoop! Never realised till now how slow my 3G was!

I'm not as impressed as when I got my first iPhone (oh those sweet moments when I saw the real Internet in my hands for the first time and experienced the intuitive multitouch) but why would I be? I'm really not sure what this phone could do better at this stage. It has pretty much everything that people have complained was missing over the years, along with a better design (in my opinion) and a screen that is as good as it gets.

Let's not forget it's a cell phone. A damn good one too.

Sounds like you were expecting the device to *ahem* do "other" things to you.

Don't like it? Sell it.. you will surely make a profit.

CYCLE NEVER ENDS!!!!

Ditto. Been like this for 3 years and shows no signs of slowing down. Bunch of whiners who are never pleased. You knew exactly what you were getting if you spent 5 minutes to research before committing to a 2 year agreement and $199 to $299 for one. If the options announced weren't enough then why the hell did you get it?

This happens every single year in this order of the Apple 9 step-dance:

1. OOOOOH new phone rumor mill flying,
2. preorder chaos,
3. initial problems or small batch of bad ones,
4. updates and phone swaps once stock is good to go,
5. dormant state until new update or OS comes out,
6. more whining,
7. fixed,
8. Dormant,
9. REPEAT ONLY THIS TIME WITH FEELING !!!!

I'm thoroughly pleased with mine partly because I tried out the new ios 4 on there instead of my 3gs. The other is that I needed a camera, almost bought a HD flip one but read the specs of 720p (which is excellent IMHO). The snappiness, the high res screen, and the stability all have me super excited. The only thing that could be improved would be notifications which looks imminent at this point. Once the jailbreak comes out and google voice can go back on, then i'll be in hog heaven.

It's like this when your popular. God forbid if Steven Hawkins dies tomorrow, he's in page 8 somewhere. If Lindsay Lohan falls on the ground, shows a crotch shot, or checks into treatment, then its PAGE 1

Ah another Nexus One lover!

Did you root your N1 as well? I'm waiting for cyanogen froyo to be released to update the rom but I unlocked my N1 (took literally 1 minute to do) and rooted it (took about 5 minutes) lol.

Yea IMO T-mobile's 3G is much better than ATT right now because T-mobile (well in my area at least) upgraded to the HSPA + speeds which is FAST. I'm tethering my N1 to 3 of my notebooks at 6Mbps down and 1.8 Mbps up. I just bought a seidio 3200 mAh battery that gives me a full weeks worth of battery life on normal or average usage but 25+ hours of continuous 3G tethering!

I agree though the iPhone's 4's display looks better than the N1's OLED display but I still think the N1 is the best phone out there currently.

I left ATT just 3 months ago and sold my iPhone 3GS but I still dont see any reason to go back to ATT even for the iPhone 4, especially with the fudged up 2GB cap and charging extra for tethering (still capped at 2GB).

I mean on my T-mobile's 3G, I just checked on Tmobile's website and my data usage is already at 4.45GB and its only half way through my billing cycle lol. Video streaming eats up alot of bandwidth.

I upgraded from a 3G to the iPhone 4, and I love it. Obviously tons faster, but the screen is amazing and crisp.

I came from a 3G and this phone is amazing!!

To anyone who doesnt think this thing is great - you are fucking crazy! This phone is way better than 3g or 3gs. I mean, it has an extra camera facing you, it has 5mp camera which blows the 3gs out of the water, and hd video. If you dont think those are extremely major upgrades then your expectations are unrealistic. The retina display is crazy as well. And the 3.5" screen is perfect. I wouldnt want anything bigger. Then it would just feel unnatural to carry around.

The iPhone 4 is perfect!

Perfect? Ah so that's why calls drop when you use it tightly in your left hand, thanks, cleared that up for me.
