I'm f'n loving mineee! Can't put it down.

Same here. I have it side-by-side on my desk with the 3G it replaced, and the difference is night-and-day.

Better screen...better sound...

...and I've had my i4 now for over 26 hours...Can't leave it alone. :)

This wouldn't be worth it if I didn't get it for free....the resale market for the 3GS phone is so high that if the new phone is free (and you don't mind giving 2 more years to AT&T), then its worth it for sure.

WOW - go back to the Droid or Windows phone, you don't deserve to be an iPhone owner - seriously the screen is disgustingly good looking (go watch a HD video on YouTube) - text looks so great, the camera is much better, a flash, front facing camera, speed is there (especially when coming from a 3GS with OS4 installed) - I'm going to stop now, I'm sure Apple will let you return it if you actually hate it that much....

I think people are confused and expect the "experience" to be different, it's still an iPhone with the same OS you had yesterday, come on......

while I agree with most of what you're saying.. this statement..

"speed is there (especially when coming from a 3GS with OS4 installed)"

is kind of silly, I had a 3gs with OS4 and my iphone 4 is just barely faster than the 3gs with OS4

Let me see... it's got a great screen... you can take hd movies... photos... play music... watch a movie... text edit... email... surf the internet... play games... in many ways it can replace your laptop... whatever I left out there is an App for that. What else can it do? Oh... phone calls. In short it is a great little machine that does a lot of things very well.

I guess I didn't get the 'wow' factor as much as expected either - I think the thing is when I got my 2G it was something 'new' but the iPhone 4 is just 'iPhone' despite the new features. Which isn't a bad thing by any means mind :)

I will buy one once all the different contact details settle down and I have time to make a comparison between them all although I always said I will retain my iPhone 2G for 3 years so it gives a few months for hardware / software issues to come to light and hopefully settle down too.

Was more impressed with the iPad than I expected though!

Perfect? Ah so that's why calls drop when you use it tightly in your left hand, thanks, cleared that up for me.

Hey, i havent had a single issue with any reception issues. So yes, perfect. :p

I'm sorry you're bitter and have too high expectations. go buy a droid.

I'm noticing a theme here.....

So I have a 3GS and I've spent some time today playing with the iPhone 4. While I will probably still get one (I'm waiting for white) I have to somewhat agree - it's not monumental - and here's the key - DEPENDING on what you're upgrading from....

If you notice most of the replies of "loving it" have come from people that have moved from a 3G to the 4 - not so much from a 3GS to a 4. My 3GS actually runs better on iOS 4 than it did on 3.x and I can't say I see a HUGE improvement with the iPhone 4.

Is it nice, yes, video is great, Facetime should be cool, but as someone else said, it's still a 3" screen - I really think for the WOW factor to kick in a 4" screen would have done it.

I also think there was a bigger speed increase from the 3G to 3GS than people realize - web pages really loaded in about 1/2 the time between the two. Not sure I see that yet on the 4.

Just my thoughts...

Wow, video looks way better than the evo and audio also.

Its ***** unbelievable we have this in our pockets now.
And the future is looking brighter and brighter for technology.
It's moving faster and faster, just think what things will be
5 years from now. Its great android is making such a big splash
in the phone area too, competition is good for all of us it'll keep
apple on its toes, instead of laying back and raking in cash.

I think the ip4 is a nice big step from the 3gs for just the video
and camera alone, imagine the possibilities. Once I sell my 3gs
I'll be snatching one of these up, and not feel let down.

I agree

I too am not impressed, especially after Steve Job's response. I actually feel like returning my iPhone 4, selling my MacBook Pro just because of his ignorant response.

Furthermore, the reception on this new iPhone keeps going in and out of bars (I have a case on it) where my 3GS didn't.

Finally, it seems that web pages are taking longer to load than on my old iPhone.

Definitely not impressed.

Finally got a chance to play around with one this morning at an Apple Store. Right away I noticed that when I picked it up the 5 bars of 3G went down to 1 within 30 seconds and the internet slowed to a crawl. I had my 3GS next to it in my other hand and it was loading sites much faster because it doesn't have the problem where actually holding the phone kills the signal. It kept all 5 bars of 3G the whole time.

It is definitely thinner than my 3GS but i was expecting it to be extremely thin, which it isn't. The screen is really nice, sharper and brighter than my 3GS. Also much more white. My 3GS screen has a yellow hue to it.

But I really can't believe Apple thought that the signal issue wasn't that big of a deal. I don't care so much about the bars, but the fact that it could barely load (took over two minutes) the nytimes web site while I was holding it is laughable. Hopefully they can fix it by next summer.
