You do realize retina was just a marketing term?
yes. Just like every product released has a "marketing term". Its how you sell it to people. My point is no one else bothered to release a phone with a high resolution display at that time. So if these parts are just sitting around in factories why doesn't any one else make it available before apple?

Yes, there were other phones with high resolution display at the time 🙄

i love the look of these. i can't stand in-ear headphones and am dreading the early retirement of the original airpods shape, but may actually consider these, if they end up working as well as airpods do.

Of course it won’t. You don’t get the economic system benefits as you would with AirPods.

what "it won't"? and we'll just have to see about the rest, now won't we? as much as i love the original airpods — the pros have a some flaws imho.
It can never beat any of Apple’s headphones because they will never have the same integration as Apple’s headphones

what integration? the ability to connect to various apple devices? the switching process so advertised by apple is utter crap. it won't have spacial audio? fine by me. what did i miss?
Looks like you answered your own question. Like 3 times… But there’s more to the list than just those 3.

not sure why you even went for the original AirPods in the first place. They’re nothing special if you don’t care about the integration, plus they’re ugly af. Go buy something else then and enjoy it

Then why do Apple seem to release the product before anyone else?
Why did they release "retina" resolution screens first?
I dont remember earbuds that small with the noise cancelling options (transparency) etc..
And then when apple make it, there's a scramble to get a cheaper / competitive product out.

So I just dont get why if all the tech is about sitting there, only apple seems to put the bits together and comes out with the innovative product that everyone copies. It doesn't make sense.
Because they have the best visions. Take CD drive and headphone jacks for example. Removing headphone jack can be done by any manufacturers, and it doesn’t require stealing technology to do that, but no one did before Apple.

This is similar to major luxury brands setting fashion trends.

To quote Steve Jobs quoting Wayne Gretzky: “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it is right now.”

Too many tech companies just ape each other or build a new version of the same thing. Apple builds the products you don’t know you want yet.

Take the iPod — there were dozens of MP3 players before iPod, but Apple built an eco-system with the iTunes Store where you could legally buy music and easily load it onto your player. People thought they were nuts, but turns out there was a huge demand.

I actually might buy these. Reasons why: (1) I’ve shut off automatic device detection as it always seem to connect to the wrong device, Phone or Mac, (2) The battery longevity on AirPods is pathetic, and I’ve lost max volume on one AirPod that I use more than the other. If this is the AirPods experience, and if they’re going to last a year or less, I would rather spend $99 than $199-249.

i wish you had answered anything, but all you can do is give advice no one asked for. btw the original airpods are great — it's the pros that are ugly af. and if you consider connecting devices via bt "integration", well then that's that)

"glad" to see i'm not the only one having this problem. i especially enjoy when it will switch to my computer while i'm on a phone call.
Another source of frustration…when the airpods automatically connect to my Mac, I cannot merely select the airpods on my iPhone to switch them to the phone. I have to disconnect the airports from my Mac before the iPhone will select them. Don’t get me wrong…I was in love with these when they came out. I remember dancing around the room to Bruno Mars thinking how amazing it was to not have wires. And then I realized how temporary and throwaway this device was.

Question for the forum: with Bluetooth 5+, do you need to select a device to connect the headphones to or are they automatically connected to the device because Bluetooth 5 connects to multiple devices at the same time? Meaning, if I play a YouTube video on my Mac, pause it, and play music from my phone, will I hear both on the headphones without having to select the headphones on each individual device? If so, sign.me.up.

wow, that does not happen to me. i'm sorry)
i still love them and they fit my ears perfectly, but the automatic switching is a complete mess. they should really 'teach' airpods not to switch devices while, let's say — a call is in progress. even if an ad did pop up on your ipad)))

Then why are you wanting to buy these Nothing earbuds. They look similar to AirPods Pro. smh

You don’t know integration if all you think AirPods are are just simply connecting it to devices.

I find it ironic that you love the design of these earbuds, but you say the AirPods Pro looks ugly. They don’t look that much different lol

If Teenage Engineering was involved, they've got my interest. I don't need any "better" integration with my iPhone than what my bluetooth Bose Quiet Comfort has.

I've just bought the AirPods Pro - beyond the auto switching (which is very flaky), the pop-up on connection (great), and the spatial audio stuff (tried it, not for me), what's the other integration we're missing?

Don't get me wrong I love my Pros but I think you're hyperbolising a little bit here. They of course integrate better in the Apple ecosystem but that feature set isn't worth £150 if the sound on these Ear (1)s is on par or better.
