Curved tempered glass protector on the front. Case that looks similar to Apple silicone.

You pay all that money for a beautiful object, then spend a few coins on 'personalising' it...I think that looks hideous...The screen is all matt, the sides look weird, the button has an edge to it...

First, nothing hideous in those pictures though I’m not one for screen protectors, and there’s no reason why putting a case on an iPhone needs to degrade its looks. Second I find if your not putting a case on a phone your asking for trouble no matter how careful you are and I am. With a device this expensive and small there’s three reasons for going naked, either you are too rich to care if an accident out of your control happens, a bit dim in the head or even though a case doesn’t need to ugly up the phone a bit too vain.

For now I'm going with a minimal Elago clear clase with a screen protector on the front. At least then I have some protection without drastically affecting the look of the phone. When Rhinoshield come out with their curved screen protectors next month I'll try that, but they aren't cheap ($24.99 for one). At some point I may then add a rear glass protector and just get a bumper that I can slip on when I take it outside. So the sides is the only thing I'm concerned about indoors really.

Spigen Liquid Crystal or Caudabe Lucid Clear?

Can anyone recommend one over the other and reason(s) why?

Which one is thinner?

I've never owned either but based on the stock photos from their websites it seems the Caudabe is a bit more form-fitting and thinner.

Dim in the head or too vain...wow that is nice and personal...

So you you drive around in your car with plastic covers on the seats? Or the sofa's in your home have they still all got the plastic on them to protect them? Or the carpets etc?

Don't know about you but to me those two items alone are a lot more valuable than the phone. So it isn't rich either...

Personal preference I fully understand and get that if anyone seriously think it makes it look better...After-all looks are purely subjective.

I just went online at apple.com and seems like every case I'm interested in won't be available until mid November, not November 3rd.

I checked when I replied to your comment and all of the cases were available for launch day.

Hehe just reading along, and smiling. Personally, my sofa is worth far less than my slippery glass X will be and I’m just not too worried about dropping my sofa on the curb from several feet up. Hehe just teasing but that comparison just didn’t fly. :) not that you were talking to me. I’m interested in seeing those who put protectors on front and back to save the look, and use minimal bumper. I would like both, protection and not making it look bulky.

I got hooked on a case/mounting/wireless charging setup from Xvida for my 7+ so I preordered their iPhone X case. I have no affiliation with them but anyone looking for a great car/home charging/mounting system I can’t say enough good things about their products.

I used two of those super-slim thin plastic cases on the 7+ (Peel and Peel-copy). While they are very form-fitting and kept the phone feeling like it's naked, I later found out that dust and dirt gets in between the phone and the case.

The metal on the 7+ was fine, but the plastic bands were scratched/scuffed. Stainless steel may fare better than plastic, but this is why I'm never using those again.

Micro-fiber internals only from now on - like in the Apple leather case. Internal protection is as important as external shielding.

I used a case on my 4S cause it had a glass back. Went naked on my 5S. May get a case for the X.

That spigen air looks nice. Also a case would help remove the camera bump so the phone lies flat.

Terrible examples. Your seats or couch you clean when get dirty. Plastic sheeting on them offers no protection; if you step wrong on the fabric it can still rip easily at the seams etc.

You cannot fix broken glass without replacing it, once its gone its gone. The case/screen protector isnt protecting a phone from getting dirty but trying to minimize shattering said front and back glass.

Naked is always my preference but I always end up carrying in the lightest transparent case I can find. I dropped my 6S once, just too slippery, got a ding on one corner, never again.

I wonder when Utomic will make those edge protectors that just go on each corner of the phone. I bought them for my last iPhone 7 plus and loved how they worked and the minimalistic design.
