Went naked with my 3G and 4S, until my 4S fell and abruptly died. The "Genius" said they would hand me a new handset with a small fee to pay for insurance sakes, but that she would only give me a replacement if I got it protected with a cover and screen protector as it was in an "unacceptable" condition. Every iPhone has since been protected with both cover and screen protector and always will be.

Always used to go commando until they started making slippery phones, courageously re-using the 6 design again and again and again.

Now that we're back to something designed to be holdable by mere mortals, I'm going to try caseless again. Though as I advance in age I have managed to drop my leather cased phone a few times recently, so AppleCare will be my backup plan.

Any would be fine. I like the soft feel of TPU but the polycarbonate caudabe would be grippy too. I would guess that the TPU cases would give more shock protection and isolation from impact vs a fully hard case?

Is the Caudabe Lucid Clear made of TPU or Polycarbonate?...Newbie Alert-->What does TPU stand for?

Caudabe is polycarbonate all over. Spigen liquid crystal and ringke air are fully TPU - soft all over. Spigen ultra hybrid and ringke fusion are a mix - polycarbonate back and TPU around the edge.

TPU no idea but it’s that kind of slightly squishy rubbery material. Kind of a bit like silicon.

I always go for a minimal case. Having had a few drops of the phone not having a case would be bad for me. Just ordered the somewhat transparent Spigen case in the gray variant.

On my 5S I used a Spigen Case and a Basic Screen protector.

On my 7+ I used an Amazon Tempered Glass Screen protector and is still holding up a year later. I also had the Apple Sillicone case but after constantly slipping it in and out of my pocket the corners have started to peel and it sticks to my pockets making it harder to take in/out.

I've been really happy with my Spigen Neo Hybrid and am planning to get one as well for my iPX.

You pay all that money for a beautiful object, then spend a few coins on 'personalising' it...I think that looks hideous...The screen is all matt, the sides look weird, the button has an edge to it...

Everyone has their preference and opinion...The screen is NOT matt...It’s a glass screen protector. While I didn’t use a screen protector on all my previous iPhones (and I’ve had them all except the 2G), my 6s Plus did get a scratch on the screen somehow...all it took was that one time to make me consider a screen protector...with a glass one being the best option. The bumper looks fine to me and everyone else that has seen it in person. Again, it’s all about a person’s preference...There are many cases and such that I’d never use, but to each his own.

That looks pretty terrible. Not to mention now much time it probably took to put all that crap on. As to why you would do this to an iPhone X, have no idea (can't even tell you have a Jet Black iPhone - looks like a cheap knockoff).

Pretty terrible? Crap? LOL I’ve actually gotten many compliments. It really didn’t take much time to put on at all. Trust me, you can tell it’s a Jet Black iPhone in person. The skin doesn’t show a super sharp reflection as the body, but that’s it.

This combo keeps it as minimalist as possible but with some 360 degree protection. I’ve dropped my phone multiple times. The bumper is banged up, my screen protector has crack in it, the skin gets smudges all the time (that just clean right off)....but when I take it all off to sell, my jet black iPhone will look flawless...

So the 2nd owner gets the benefit of enjoying your flawless iPhone? Sounds like plastic covering on the furniture to me?

Yes they do, ooops, they dropped it when someone bumped into them, or didn’t see the speck of grit or whatever on the surface they placed it on or something unseen in their pocket rubbed up against it when they were walking around, well it was fun while it lasted eh? Oh wait no, fun isn’t the word.

This thread is pretty useless without pics of the case. Which case are you getting? Oh the blue one, the black one, the clear one. I need pics to see what you guys are talking about. lol

Personally I’ve just ordered the Spigen Air Skin in jet black to go on my black iPhone X, I know it’s a render on the website but it looks damn fine.

Looks even better than the Thin Fit case with protection at top and bottom which that doesn’t have, in the mean time I’ll use the Quadlock one I already have that I’ll use from time to time when I use the phone as a Satnav till that shows up.

Speaking for myself, I do think at least some phones look better in some cases. Here’s my Jet Black in a Black Leather Apple case:

I think it oozes cool, techno chic. And I hate the camera bump, to be honest, so for me a case is essential to conceal it.

That’s the same configuration I was using for quite a while. Then I decided to use the jet black 7 Plus naked and haven’t looked back.

So you hide it for the benefit of someone else...See this is exactly what I don't get. Sure each to their own, but why keep it pristine for the second user. Absolutely madness to me.

I would consider a case but love the ability to easily swipe from the edge of the screen uninterrupted by the edge of the case when it is naked. Is there such a case that doesn't rise up on the edges?

I try, and I want to use my phone without a case, but I am too ocd about scratches and paranoid of it breaking that I can't get myself to not use a case and screen protector on all my phones.

Well...with the millions of people that chose to put something on their phones...It must be a mass epidemic...

When I’m using my phone or if it’s just laying on my desk, there’s no mistaking it for another phone...It’s immediately recognized as an iPhone 7 Plus by others...I chose to add protection while adding little to its form factor...and it works for me. Ultimately, that’s all that really matters.

Obviously, due to the nature of this thread, there will be people in here who, “…are going naked, putting on screen protector and/or case”....

You’re in a thread criticizing those that choose to put something on their phones because YOU choose not to...because it’s not to YOUR taste...
