So cant i walk into an o2 store when i go as a tourist on 26th of April and buy 2 iphones with cash and walk out? If so what are my options to buy one?

Just stand in front of the store and offer the cash to someone to buy it for you on their credit card.

well, my friend is going for business and he's got no time to buy it. I begged him to make him buy, i don't think he would do such a thing. Aren't there anyway that they will accept cash? BTW when i went to England 3-4 years ago, Turkish Credit Cards were able to buy somethings(VISA, Mastercard etc..) wouldn't it do the same thing for O2? Or do i need a English Credit Card?

When the phone is bought it's on the condition that it's 18 month contract activated via iTunes. When asked "what happens if I don't activate" the shop says that they will sue for breach of contract.

The question is, do they ever do this or is it just a bluff to deter unlockers?

I think it's just to deter unlockers. The cost of going after unlockers would be considerably greater than the lost revenue due to unlocking.

I can't imagine that O2 is very happy with the situation at the moment:

1. It's had to discount the iPhones in order to clear stock prior to the new iPhone arriving in June. It and CPW ordered too many iPhones from Apple. Apple probably did a fair amount of pushing to get O2/CPW to buy tons of stock up front.
2. It gave Apple a generous cut of the subscription revenue.
4. Apple isn't make any active (or effective) effort to stop unlocking.

Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile must be having a good laugh.

Anyone?

BTW i just need to know the questions below, please answer, i am begging you;

-Are there any waiting lines in the O2 stores?(i mean physically) or do they look like normal stores?

-Are there any o2 stores in Heathrow Airport of London?

-Question i asked in my quote

-Can i find an iPhone for 169Pounds easily? Or did they sell out already?

-Is it normal that i am excited this much? I feel like i need to get a report of the o2 stores, things i want is 2 iphones for 340 pounds in total, pay cash or make my Turkish credit card work for them, walk out from the store, hope i will not have any problems at the airport coming back to Turkey. Do i want possible things or should i be sad? I need your help my friends. I need your experience and guide. Please answer.

Sorry mate, I'm living in Belgium so can't answer you precisely.

So I'm a little bit guessing but firstly they will only sell one phone per customer (normally), secondly they run a UK credit check and you won't show up so I'd be very, very surprised if they will sell to you at all.

However, it does depend a little on the driver behind the promotion. If they've really got tens of thousands of 8GB iPhones to dump before the 3G model arrives then it could be that they are willing to turn a blind-eye to the contractual aspects so maybe you could haggle a bit...

Thanks for answering even though you don't live in UK but are you sure they run UK Credit Card check? I mean it is global, if i'd give a Visa or MasterCard, only a Turkish banks one it should be legal. When i was in England they said it was OK to give Turkish Credit Cards. Would it change for only O2? And my first selection would be cash if they would accept it. Second would be Credit card. I hope they accept cash and i hope they have loads of stocks in the back.

BTW i am accepting other fellows answers to my long question above. I need a guide to be panicking or not? Thank you.

buying an iPhone is different to any other contract phone in the uk. O2 will not run a credit check instore. Its all done through iTunes
as for a credit card I see no reason why they would not accept it as long as its visa or mastercard. And there will be plenty of iPhones left I'm sure of that.
