Can you jailbreak it and use it with an existing contract? I have a T-mobile plan with unlimited data access so I fancy one of these as a backup.

I still cannot believe that the iPhone is currently £30 cheaper than the iPod touch. You might as well buy the iPhone just so you have an iPod touch with a camera, for less money! and a better battery.

I sense though that the iPod touch prices will change in accordance very soon.

do you think am I right or too much negative? I think that they will sell out until my friend gets there(30th of April) just I need to get an iPhone. I am scaring the heck out of my self

They will have loads in stock. The offer goes on untill June 1st...relax mate.

It will work out cheaper for me to just use the SIM only offer with the unlimited internet bolt-on from O2 though!

iPhone contract - 18 x £35 = £630 -£100 Cash back = £530
SIM only - 18 x £22.50 = £405

I might forget about that £100 cash back and not bother signing up to the new contract. Only thing i'd not get is the visual voice mail and cloud usage, which i'd not really use anyway. Plus i'd not be stuck with an 18 month contract!

now dont get me wrong that's a good plan on paper but that extra £125 is effectively your guarantee that if anything goes wrong with your phone you'll get another one.
where as for £12.50 a month cheaper if something happens to iphone your F****d:)
I have had my since uk launch day, had a battery issue and got it replaced no questions asked.
if you go the other way you only get one chance.
but hey don't let me put you off, it's a fantastic piece of kit:D:D:D:D

How about it gets broken because "i left it in my jeans and put them the washing machine"? I then claim on my household insurance and get a new one on them! ...this method had worked for my friends in the past!

ha, accidental damage... its pretty odd insurance companies will insure against this sort of thing... oh well.

What is that supposed to mean? Of course there will always be terrorist attacks, but they will never "end it all" as you say.

im just saying thats where in this video they said to attack first so just be alert, sh*t I'll be heading to a different country if I heard that.

They've sold out in my town; both the O2 store & Carphone Warhouse. Apparently they're getting deliveries tomorrow.

According to the geezer in the O2 shop, they sold 15 iPhones yesterday (Weds, 1st day of the discount) which is more than they've sold in the last month or so.

I did laugh when he offered me the 16GB one for £329 (compared with £169 for the 8GB one).

To crack it or to register it, that is the question. I have to give a month's notice on my previous provider, so I'm toying with the idea of cracking it for the month and using my existing SIM. In fact it's a thought that it may be worth cracking it until June when the new deal's announced.

There is more than one O2 shop in Brighton!

A huge one in western road and a smaller one in churchill square! Were they both out?

does anyone know of changes to the purchase limit of 5 per customer? i bought one in the carphone warehouse today and the knuckle dragger behind the counter would only sell me one.

im certain i can get one more from O2, but wonder if they're running a similar policy?

look at the thread "I predict a uk price drop" someone bought 10 from o2.
God knows what he'll do with 10 iPhones. ???????

Well, I took the plunge. There are 2 Guildford o2 locations and the first one was sold out, so I frantically ran over to the other location and got the last one! Not sure if Carphone Warehouse has any but it feels really good knowing that right now I might have bought the last 8gb phone in the entire town.

They really would have sold me about 20 phones if they had them though. Didn't even ask me a single question.

If anyone is unsure about this process Ziphone was even easier than I expected. I did have to install the 1.1.4 update though. Apparently UK versions still have 1.1.2.

My brother went to get me 2 from CPW and he was told he could only have 1. They checked his card to see if it had been used before to purchase a phone. I wanted 2 so he went into an O2 shop and got me the 2nd one using a different card.
