I currently have a BlackBerry on O2 PAYG - If I buy an iPhone off eBay, would I be able to switch over to the iPhone Simplicity Tarrif? or do I HAVE to to have an existing iPhone contract with O2?

Thanks.

Wow, you Europeans have it great. I pay much more than that as a Canadian, only a mandatory 3 year contract and get only 1GB of data, 100 minutes and 1,000 texts. AHH.

Europeans? You mean people with 02 because in Spain, we get screwed as well. We get two options for data: 15 euros a month for 200mb and 25 for 1gb. Then you have your voice plan, which I pay a ridiculous amount (30 cents a minute from 7am to 5pm and 8 cents after that), and get charged per text message, 15 cents each for me. Each mms is 1 euro.

So yeah, 'Europeans' don't have it great. 02 customers are the ones who do :)

You can switch just by phoning to O2 customer service. Its quite quick!

With the iPhone Simplicity tariff you will also get visual voicemail (the default one from apple) but you can also try some similar app such as HulloMail (which I use :) ) that offers more features such as the ability to send voice messages (for free, only uses your data plan).

Did mine yesterday, took a few minutes and less than 2 hours later it was sorted, a quick change of the Cellular Data settings and I was done!

A nice £15 pm better off and a monthly rolling contract :)

Thanks. So I don't have to be at the end of my 18 month contract?

Call the customer service 202, they will inform you on that but I assume that it is possible. However they may tell you that you can change but only to a similar type of contract... Maybe tell them you are going to work abroad soon, can word. What do you advise others?

Thanks for the heads-up, that's me on Simplicity 20 instead of the £45 a month tariff. I'd forgotten all about my contract being up on the iPhone as well.

iPhone 4

Will I be able to keep this great simplicity tariff (which I am currently using on my 3GS) with a new iPhone 4. I guess the question is, if I buy a PAYG iPhone 4, will O2 give/seel me a Micro Sim with my current tariff/contract on?

D

I wish I could stay on mine but just can't afford £499 as I just bought an ipad. Have to go back the contract route!!!
