That is what i am saying it may be sooner but the indication in the former post was that our phones took a taxi thru china and now going to be delayed

That is silly

Everyone's just excited and anxious; it's part of the fun(?)/experience of pre-ordering online. I know it seems like some people are being unduly overwrought, but we're all just feeding off each other and being a little silly. jlake02 is just having fun, like the rest of us. :)

Here's my UPS tracking info from China

UPS guy at depot station showed me his computer last time I was there to pick up a package and said many times the tracking history is an educated guess - there is a "logical" status on his screen which means it's an educated guess and then there is a "physical" status which means the box was actually scanned - just some trivia FWIW

I'm not holding my breath for Monday delivery - I've seen my delivery dates change several times over the span of a day from Thursday, to Wednesday, to Tuesday, to Monday so who the heck knows when it will really get here?

lol

So...what should the 7:10'ers make of all of this? I called 1-800-PICK-UPS. Total waste of time. They told me that the phone "departed China last night" but "hasn't cleared customs" and "isn't in the United States yet". Maybe it found a wormhole along the way? I kid.

But really, what do you guys think happened to our packages? I see there's a plane leaving Incheon (UPS99) in a bit. Maybe it's that?

I got impatient and I was able to purchase one this morning for pick up in Palo Alto. It was so smooth. I was in and out within 5 min and got my 6+ 64gb space gray. Looks like my dad gets a new iPhone for my preorder coming on 9/25 from China.

Same boat as you, tracking still stuck at 7:10 arrival scan. Really wish there would be an update in the tracking, but I'm hoping for the best with an earlier arrival. Still showing Wednesday delivery.

I think that it's possible that "the phone 'departed China last night' but 'hasn't cleared customs' and 'isn't in the United States yet'".

;)

Kidding, but honestly we can't possibly guess any better than the folks who work at UPS can. Sounds like good news to me; I won't dismiss it off-hand.

EDIT: I'm supposed to be writing a literature review essay for a research paper and I can't stop refreshing this thread. Damn you Apple!!!! :p

Yeah, I've been using this thread to break the hell of my accounting homework.

I am so DONE with staring at that 7:10. Like if the phone is on the moon just freaking update the status and let me know. It's been a day and a half, I'm going nuts. That 9/25 is looking like a reality.

still better that 10/1-6 though...

Oct. 1 to 6 Delivery Date Orders (UPDATE) Shipping earlier!!!

Just FYI, for those wondering, until the phones cross customs they are not considered to be in the US. While physically in the states, it is still technically in route from China. That's just how the legal classification works.

Edit: and BTW, my phone is in the same spot: Shanghai. My delivery is scheduled for Thursday (128GB 6+ AT&T, ordered at 2:15am 9/12).

Shhh...I'm on it right now. Tearing through pallets to find my phones!

At least my research paper is about zombies. That helps keep me at least partially interested. ;)

I've got it the worst. I'm a software programmer trying to write code for some apps. I work from home most of the week, do you all know how hard the temptation is? I'm constantly checking this thread, even though I'm supposed to be checking out Xcode.

I called about the ZhengZhou 7:10s (like you all already did) with the intent of I don't know what. I got the same story, trying to get it through customs to leave China.

"So will it be headed to Shanghai or Anchorage next?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Will the phones now go to Shanghai or Anchorage?"

"When it gets through customs it should be headed towards the states"

I should be revising my first novel which just got some edits back, but instead I'm sitting here trying refreshing this thread. :D

If I write a book about nut jobs on the Macrumors forums, then I have to admit to myself that I am one of them.

It's the first sci-fi novel in a series of four, set in a fictional world where the society has to choose between their planet or their technology. They choose their planet, and 600 years later, 100 years after they were supposed to be able to rebuild, society is still trying to get back to where they were. Kind of hard to explain, so that's as good as I can do without giving away a bunch of plot points.
