If I write a book about nut jobs on the Macrumors forums, then I have to admit to myself that I am one of them.

It's the first sci-fi novel in a series of four, set in a fictional world where the society has to choose between their planet or their technology. They choose their planet, and 600 years later, 100 years after they were supposed to be able to rebuild, society is still trying to get back to where they were. Kind of hard to explain, so that's as good as I can do without giving away a bunch of plot points.

Cool! :)

I would absolutely read that! But I'm a huge Sci-Fi nerd, and pretty much read all the sci-fi novels. I'm probably a little old, but have read all the Dystopian stuff too.

Well. I canceled my pre-order when I saw a availability for a 6+ 64GB Space Grey ATT phone at one of the area. But before I could get my eligibility back, the phone was gone. But I still see silver availability. I will keep checking the stores and based on what I have seen so far, it looks like stores are getting them every day.

I've got it the worst. I'm a software programmer trying to write code for some apps. I work from home most of the week, do you all know how hard the temptation is? I'm constantly checking this thread, even though I'm supposed to be checking out Xcode.

I believe work/school productivity markedly plummets just after keynote, rebounds until pre-order day and then dramatically plummets and stays down until the pre-ordered phones arrive. I'm sure it's a steep, albeit temporary, decline. I want to see an infographic on it!

You should write in a character named Steve Macroumors

That's encouraging! So far, beta readers have given me some good feedback, but I still have some revisions and polish to go before it gets released. Mine is probably a little closer to adventure than dystopian, even though it is set in a post-fall society, because it's in some ways a blank slate - a race to the Core as it were, with some ethical ambiguity thrown in there.

I called about the ZhengZhou 7:10s (like you all already did) with the intent of I don't know what. I got the same story, trying to get it through customs to leave China.

"So will it be headed to Shanghai or Anchorage next?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"Will the phones now go to Shanghai or Anchorage?"

"When it gets through customs it should be headed towards the states"

Ughhh. Guess we're not getting bumped up a day like the others.

Yeah, that's generally the case. If you're willing to keep trying to hunt one down you'll get it eventually. When I pre-ordered right when they went on sale and still didn't get the 19th as my shipping date, I strongly thought about canceling and doing the same thing. The rumors of low availability of the 6+ gave me cold feet, especially because I can't tolerate white bezels and so had to have a very specific color as well, and in the end decided not to chance buying something I didn't really want and to wait it out. Frankly, I'm glad I did now; the exact phone I wanted is on its way.

I held for pickup with my choice and now the delivery date is unavailable. it better not have slowed the shipping down

Actually, I also have the luxury of having a gold 128GB 6+ in hand. So the moment, I get space grey, I am going to return this and get a 6 for wifey.

Well this is my updated tracking info, I thought this would be in the states by now.

It's currently 3:44 in the morning in Shanghai, so I'm sure we'll see some movement soon! That is, unless they're already on a flight to the states...

Have been following this thread since it started. I pre-ordered 2 6+ 128gb (1x silver, 1x Grey) on 9/12 @ 2am via apple.com. They were both shipped on 9/19 and currently in Shanghai too. UPS Delivery date 9/25, delivering to Northern California.
