Oct. 1 to 6 2014 Delivery Date Orders (Update) Delivered earlier!

Just spoke to CS...the very nice rep told me that earlier she had updated an order to expedited shipping which had been approved by a supervisor, but now they are being told "very strongly" that they should no longer update people's orders, because "even though the system is showing the delivery date will be sooner than a couple of days, when it comes time to ship, they will actually be rescheduled and delivered a few days LATER than the original date, so we don't want to make a lot of people angry."

I guess time will tell.

Great scare tactic, Apple--worked on me. :rolleyes:

Hmmm. I wonder what that means? That all the dates are going to slip back once they start shipping? Or just for those who had their shipping priority changed?

Just the orders for which shipping priority was changed. Of course this could simply be a tactic for Apple to save money...
 
One CSR bumped up my delivery date to 9/29-10/2. About 40 mins later it bumped back to 10/1-10/6. So I called. The guy I talked to wasn't very helpful and was just like sorry she shouldn't have done that, nothing I can do for you. I accepted that, disappointed. Then I stewed on my anger for awhile and called back and asked to see if there was SOMEthing that could be done and that's when the new CSR told me that what the first csr lady did could've screwed up my order and shipping and could delay my phone even though it's showing 10/1-10/6. Hopefully this isn't true. :-/

Did you receive a notification / e-mail for this change back to Oct 1-6?
 
I spoke with an :apple: CSR. Asked for expedited shipping. She checked my order and simply replied that yes it's possible to do that. Bumped to 9/29-10/2 (2-3 business day shipping).
 
I just spent more than an hour getting my shipping sorted. I was bumped around from person to person until I hit upon a real gem. I explained that when I was ordering my phone it showed a delivery date of 9/19. Since I couldn't get it any faster than launch day, I chose standard shipping. When the confirmation email arrived the delivery date showed 10/1-10/6. I made it clear that I was NOT looking to jump up the queue, but merely wanted to purchase expedited shipping, as I will be out of town during the expected delivery period. She put me on hold and came back to say that she was happy to provide expedited shipping at no cost, moving my delivery date to 9/29-10/2 at the latest. My order status showed the update immediately.

While I would have loved to have my phone on 9/19 (this is the second time in a row my delivery date was bumped between the cart and email confirmation), I'm satisfied with their response. The CSR couldn't have been nicer. I told her how much I appreciated her help and her very upbeat manner. She laughed and said she wished that people realized that they get just as excited about new products as the customers and that they'd like more than anything to get these new phones in all of our hands on launch day.

I hope all you people that are getting your shipping changed around end up at the back of the line and I get my phone sooner. Lol. Just kidding, I'm not actually that mean or desperate for my phone to be here. I know it'll get here and that's cool with me.
 
Well I called into Apple support as well. Mainly because I had to change my shipping address. Once I changed my shipping address, I asked about expedited shipping. She was able to expedite my shipping, and now my order is saying Delivers: Sep 25 - Sep 30 by 2 Business Days instead of Oct 1 - Oct 6. Hopefully it didn't delay anything. :confused:

Right?! Guess it depends on wha CSR you get. How frustrating. I don't want to jump ahead of anyone either but I'll be out of town 10/1-10/6 on vacation (how crappy, right...way to make my vacation not relaxing lol). So that's why I was thrilled with 9/29 bump, but after it bumped back to 10/1 and they said no to changing it and that the system auto bumped it back, I decided I wouldn't test my luck anymore. I'm just gonna hope it arrives even on 9/30 or something lol fingers crossed for alllllll of us!

So much craziness I swear haha. I'm scared to even mess with my order and ask for expedited. And I'm part of the Oct. 14-21 camp. -_-

I have 10.1 to 10.6 delivery but will still get in line at my local tmobile store Thursday night. I'll be porting from cricket to tmobile.
