Oct. 1 to 6 2014 Delivery Date Orders (Update) Delivered earlier!

do you know if 7-10 days was from the 12th when we ordered or from the 19th when the phone is released?


I'm pretty sure it's 7-10 business days after we ordered (I hope!). But someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Called Apple to see if they could bump up my order from the Oct 1-6 group. Waited for an hour and 10 minutes on the phone till I finally got through. The lady was very kind. She said she has no way to bump me to 9/19 delivery but that she would add expedited shipping for free. She also gave me a free Apple leather case with choice of color. After getting off the phone, my

orders show a delivery between Sept 29-Oct 2!



So, faster delivery and a $100 worth of cases (she did it for both of my orders)? Pretty glad I called!

I have been counting from the 12th. I figure that would put the 7 - 10 days around the 23rd - 16th with standard shipping putting it here around the 29th - first of october. Hope its sooner than that!
 
Just got off the phone with a supervisor and was told that they have upgraded everyone in my group to "expedited" shipping which would be a 2-3 business day delivery after shipping. He even sent me an email with his direct contact info incase I had any questions. He also said that he'd keep an eye on my order and if there was anything he could do to get it to me faster he would. I'm not sure how serious that offer was but he seemed sincere...

I still hate during checkout it said 9/19 delivery but my email said Oct 1 - 6 :mad: Ordered 64gb iP6 Plus Slate Gray

YES, that was painful. Did the Apple Store App everything was so smooth to land that 9/19 ship date, it crashed. Started over..again has the 9/19 date, then it lagged and couldn't connect to ATT, got the reservation #..with the Oct 1-6 arrival date. :mad: Slightly deflating to say the least, same phone also 6+, SpaceGray 64GB. Replacing my 5.

So I just called and spoke with a guy who said that ALL the iPhone's were going to be shipped out overnighted and that if he was to change the shipping now, it would delay it. So be careful, obviously I don't know if what he said was true or not but thought I'd share.

:D Encouraging. NO..I'm not about to touch or change my order, In fact I get nervous if my cursor remotely comes close that blue "CANCEL" button!
 
Rumors are that they're doing this for everyone but not advertising it so they have something to appease customers upset by the shipping times.

I called Apple this afternoon and was told by the rep that if she changed the order, it would actually push my delivery out further than Oct. 1-6...
 
Latest update. I've talked to 4 different reps.

1st rep told me they received an email and said to not expedite any orders because they were already expediting all orders.

The 2nd through 4th rep all gave me the exact same story:
"If we switch it to expedited shipping, they would pull your individual phone off the shipping pallet and then ship the pallet without your phone, which would cause additional delays and will have the opposite effect of getting the phone to you sooner."

With the 3rd and 4th rep, I mentioned that I had a friend who got switched to Next Day Air and these were the responses I received:
Rep 3: "They should not have. That person's order will most likely get delayed now."
Rep 4: "I'd like to speak with the person who expedited their order because they shouldn't have done that."

I've gone through 4 reps and an hour of phone conversations.. I'm not sure if they're making up BS to just not expedite the order or what.. I'm tired and I'm no longer attempting to get it upgraded on the small chance that the upgraded shipping actually DOES cause a delay. (Most likely not. Judge Judy says "if it doesn't make sense, it isn't true." And obviously delayed expedited shipping doesn't make sense..)

I did end up getting a free leather case out of the whole debacle.

Don't want to freak anyone out who got expedited shipping, as I'm pretty sure it's just a bunch of BS from the CSRs, but wanted to share my findings.

I spoke with a VERY knowledgable rep and mentioned the whole debacle about a "Friend" getting next day delivery and this is what I was told. Since the 6+ IS coming from overseas while the system would allow them to switch it, its not physically possible for it to come from china overnight. That being said, the rep was more than happy to switch my order to expedited (2-3 business days) and it places me in the exact same delivery estimate as the poster who showed his next day delivery. Any rep that tells you ANYTHING other than this is misinformed. They had NO PROBLEM changing to expedited shipping for orders that are in any wave OTHER than those receiving on the 19th.

What did you say when you called in? I was extremely polite and explained my 4 hour drama at 3am on launch day. Did you just say your friend got it and asked if you could have it, and skipped the sob story?
 
Pretty much. Said moving my shipping up was the LEAST they could do for my troubles and all the heartache I had to go through to get an order in. The lady was more than willing at that point to take care of it even though I was prepared to fight haha.

Honestly at this point I'm so tired of calling in that it's not worth it to me. Just gonna wait the extra 3-4 days at this point and let it go. Waited two years for a new iphone, what's another 3 days.

Little off topic, but this sounds close to a scenario just gave me a horrible flashback to when I worked Promotions at CDNOW.com back in the late 90s-01. Huge pre-order for the much anticipated release of the new Backstreet Boys CD. It was the biggest pre-order in that company's brief history.

Long story slightly short, it was a total fiasco. CDs did not show up as promised on Tuesday release date - had to do with standard vs. expedited, confusion at the warehouse.

Slew of angry calls from parents overwhelmed the Customer Service dept. that it crashed the phone system! It came to the point where if open orders were changed, it would delay the CD even more. Finally came to the solution in an emergency meeting - Tech searched the database for EVERY ordered BB CD, just replace them with another one -shipped overnight and add a 10% off next order coupon - let them know they can keep the original ordered CD when it arrives." LOT of lost $ for the company. I personally believe that mess was a turning point for the company and not in a good way. Sorry, I know way off topic...just reminds me of actually working with a technical issue like this.


In the end, like my old job - :apple: realizes the problem, they know people are pretty ticked about the preorder not going smooth for most (yes it went fine for others). After a messed up live stream, and this. They have to make it right..."keep the customer happy" If that means sucking up the money and overnighting the phones, 1-2 days shipping. I think they need to do that, and believe they will.
 
Spoke with a very nice CSR Lady at apple. Like most of everyone else I asked if it could be expedited. She was very helpful and nice and like the others explained to me if I changed it now it would slow it down. She also told me that all the orders were getting expidited anyways. She told me if I really wanted to she would change it for me but she really discouraged it. I told her to just leave it be and she said to make up for it she would give me another leather case to match a different purse if I wanted. Of course I didn't refuse lol. She never came right out and said it but she did hint around that we would get them much sooner than the projected date. She could just be blowing smoke in my face, but she was extremely nice

I honestly believe the phones will arrive for all of us well before Oct. 1. Apple has to get this 9/19 group sorted out and once supply is locked down (in the system) for them we're up next. The bosses know lots of people are angry they stayed up all night and got passed by while others got lucky.

Apple is very, very well known for its supply chain logistics and relationship with the big overnight carriers. I have faith. :)

just called twice, and shot down twice, with the reps telling me that "there is no express shipping". not even a free case like others were getting. :(

I honestly don't know how there can be such discrepancy between the different reps. And it is stated pretty darn clearly in the description for PROCESSING that you can make modifications to the order. Nothing was expressed to me regarding slowing the order down and it moved my order up in terms of estimated delivery date so I don't know what the rest of these reps are smoking.

I don't either. It doesn't make sense that expedited shipping would cause you a delay. I do believe it's BS, even though it's what all the different reps told me.

She also said that Apple is being very conservative with their delivery dates estimate, and expect to receive the phone leaning toward October 1st.

I know right, maybe you should give it another try !!! My wait time for tonight was only 25 minutes. Before calling i chatted with a CSR online, and she gave me this number to call 1 (800) 676- 2775.
