For those of us with 9/25, I don't know why you all can't just accept that the date is probably accurate and nothing will move until probably Monday. It sucks, but this delusion that we will get them on Monday or Tuesday is not very likely to happen. All the web site tracking and UPS flight watching isn't going to make it come any faster. In fact, it highly unlikely that its even possible to figure out what's going on by simply looking up stuff on Flight Track or whatever. Its just guesswork.

I imagine UPS is so far behind, that we have to wait until all the stock clears out before ours before it gets moving. There is only so much transport space available on the planes.

who invited the wet blanket? ;):p

and to add insult to injury: you can't even call ups and bitch at them cuz the a holes aren't working :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Whoa whoa whoa. Lol. I really think the ones with a delivery date of tomorrow just weren't updated online. I also have to arrange around work so I can pick it up and go in late. I'm still planning on that being tomorrow.....hopefully.

If yours is in Shanghai, thats the final China stop until Anchorage. So you are where you should be. It will probably move today, then to Louisville. Worst case, Tuesday (which is still way better than Thursday). Its also possible that UPS's web tracking is way behind. That happens all the time on these launches, getting deliveries before UPS even shows it arrived in your area. It could be in Louisville right now for all you know.

Funny, but he's also most likely right. Kind of lame; there are two nearby stores that I could pick up the exact same phones at today. I think that this will be my last online preorder; they never seem to work out smoothly. I remember when the first Nexus 7 tablet went on sale and I preordered that immediately; Google screwed up their coordination with retailers so badly and kept pushing back the release date until everyone had enough and they just started selling the damn thing. My father-in-law had one in his hands two days before my preorder shipped.

That's harsh. Mine was ordered an hour earlier and I'm on 9/25. One hour can make a big difference apparently.

If Apple's web site/app hadn't F'ed everything up, most of us would have had it already. Its frustrating getting up early, right at the start, and still not being able to order for an hour and a half because, once again, Apple and the carriers couldn't get their s--- together. First launch ever where I couldn't get it on launch day - for any iOS device.

I think the weakest link is the carrier's sites. They couldn't report on eligibility properly and keep up. I think Apple needs to try something new - how about a carrier pre-apprval setup. During the 3 days or so from announcement to pre-order, allow people to pre-qualify their phone lines with the carrier. They give you some kind of code and you can use that code on Apple's web site to order. That could help tremendously by eliminating large amounts of traffic on launch day. You could still order without the code and have it go the old fashioned way, by checking the carrier's site for eligibility, but I think large numbers would pre-qualify, freeing up lots of web traffic. Just a thought.

This.

I too can pick up the phone I want right now, but my better judgement has won me over.

I would have to pay the off-contract price of $950
Load all my info/numbers/apps
Return the off-contract phone thursday when UPS brings my pre-order
Reload everything on that one.

Too big of a pain in the a$$ if you ask me.

Got mine ordered 30 minutes after launch, and I too am on 9/25. Go figure.

Every other iPhone launch I lined up at an AT&T store and got what I wanted. I was usually first or second in line. This time I convinced my wife that it would be better to order it online because of all the rumors of low Plus availability.

I don't know; the Apple site didn't come up for two hours. I'm not sure how that can be pinned on the carriers. I do agree that pre-authorizing eligibility is a good idea, though.

Once it leaves Shanghai for Anchorage, it usually takes just a day to get to you. I think worst case scenario for you (and mine too) is Tuesday delivery which is the "Original" delivery date by UPS before being moved to Monday

This.

Oh I'm not going to, I'm just pointing out the ridiculousness of the fact that any Joe Schmoe could walk in off the street and have the phone that I "pre-ordered" right now. I literally would be better off had I not pre-ordered, and this is not the first time I've found myself in that situation when pre-ordering something online.

Well another morning and iPhone still stuck in China. I feel like Phil in Groundhog Day. 4 days and our phones are just sitting there.

I think are phones have been taken.

Mine is in the 12:45 group, I think those phones are already in Kentucky

The 7:10 group will most likely fly today and deliver 9/24-25

Thant is why your estimate says 9/25 UPS are not just making random estimates

Just think how this board will go crazy when that 7:10 makes a move!

Yep. Sadly it won't be until tomorrow most likely. As bad as I want the phone now, I am off Thursday, so 9/25 delivery works out well for me. If it was another day the wifey would have to be stuck waiting for me :D

Oh please don't tell me that I have another whole day of staring at 7:10!

I didn't even bother with the web site, it always has issues. I went straight to the app, and in the past, it worked flawlessly. Until this year.

I see stock come and go at my Apple Store, so I entertained thoughts about upgrading one of my Next lines at the store and just returning the online order (paid at full price). Plus, having two in my possession temporarily gives me extra protection against a defective unit. But the fact that that I live in NY and can't use Next for an online order with Apple (thanks, AT&T and NY for that pointless restriction), I'd have to go to the store and gamble that the stock the web site shows as available now doesn't become unavailable by the time I get there. I'm not playing that game. So. . .patience. And hoping my long awaited order isn't defective. That would be a kick in the balls.

I had my MBA, my iPad, and my iPhone up and ready. Kept trying on each until my iPhone finally got through. I had my wife on her iPhone too. At one point I ended up with three phones in my cart before I was able to check out, it was so flaky. Still thought I'd had gotten it in for 9/19 because that was the date when I started, but by the time I was done it had pushed back to 10/1-6. Not fun at 2am.

Holding out hope it will come tomorrow. But delivery is scheduled for Tuesday. No big deal for me.

The wife went to verizon to see the plus. She loved it. Tried to get me to go. I didn't wan too. I wanted to be surprised at the size of the phone

Mine is suppose to come on Tuesday as well... I used ups my choice to change to hold for pick up and right now the delivery date disappear on my tracking....lol..
