My anticipated arrival day came back on the next scan after choosing to have it held for will call.

What's funny is it shows up on the UPS app on my phone with delivery dates for both orders I submitted the hold request for but when you click on the entries it says delivery date not available.

So once flight 105 to Anchorage, knowing I am in Florida and phone will be delivered here, Where will my phone be heading next?

I think my phone is on some invisible flight, or the times are wrong on UPS. My last two scans were...

Shanghai, China 09/22/2014 9:40 P.M. Arrival Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2014 8:40 P.M. Departure Scan

I can't find a flight today from ZhengZhou to Shanghai with anything close to those times except for passenger planes. Maybe my phone is being hand delivered. Lol. Or I wonder if I'm actually on UPS81 that left at 9:38 P.M. That would be nice.

Any ideas where my phone is? This is my latest scan:

ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2014 5:20 P.M. Departure Scan

Which looks to be the same as those that went to Incheon, but I never got an arrival scan there. Is there another plane in the air or is the system just being slow to update?

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a departure scan of 5:20pm today(9/22) from ZhengZhou...

So yeah... this is what is confusing me. MyChoice allowed you to arrange a hold for the package while some of us are not given that option because it does not register the incoming package. That really puzzles me.

MID AFTERNOON UPDATE
3 flights en route to Alaska now

UPS105 Osaka to Alaska:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS105
ETA: 12:33PM AKDT (4:33pm ET)

UPS81 Shanghai to Alaska:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS81
ETA: 01:40PM AKDT (5:40pm ET)

UPS99 Incheon to Alaska:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS99
ETA: 02:22PM AKDT (6:22pm ET)

Upon arrival in Anchorage:
  • 3-3.5 hours to refuel/unload/re-load (based on historical data)
  • Using the same flight number, fly to US hub of Louisville, KY or Chicago/Rockford, IL. This is a 4.5-5.5 hours flight.

Upon arrival at KY/IL hub (est. Midnight - 2am on Tuesday 9/23):
  • Loaded to plane heading to your local airport by 3am-4am-ish??
  • Arrived at local airport in the morning and loaded to truck for delivery!

Note that this timeline is for UPS Worldwide Saver Express. If you are under the "Expedited" batch, I don't think it will go from KY/IL hub to your local airport right away (might take an extra day)

Quick Update

Looks like UPS has added the next leg of the flight for all 3 of our planes.

UPS105 Anchorage to Chicago Rockford:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS105
Estimated Departure: 3:48pm AKDT (7:48pm ET)

UPS81 Anchorage to Louisville:
https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS81
Estimated Departure: 3:38pm AKDT (7:38pm ET)

UPS99 Anchorage to Louisville:
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS99
Estimated Departure: 4:02pm AKDT (8:02pm ET)

Each of them are about 5 hours flight so each of them will arrive in Chicago and Louisville around Midnight per my post above.

I was able to have my phone held through My Choice and their website early on in the process. Definitely before spending the weekend in Shanghai. It did jack with the scheduled delivery date for at least a day, but it has returned to 9/25, which it has been since I first found the tracking. Definitely enjoying this thread. Misery loves company!

6+ Space Gray 64 gig AT&T. Ordered on the Apple IPhone app. Received my confirmation email at 3:06 AM CST (9/12).

I'm in the same boat as you. That was not a flight, it was a train. My iPhone arrived in Shanghai at 9:40am. Missed the plane out, and I think there is only 1 plane out per day...

ok .... So I'm seeing that 4:02 flight from anc to Ky is delayed....I wonder if it's waiting for flight from Korea to get in so everything wil go to ky together

Interesting that 105 is going to Chicago.

You can check the history of the each flight number and UPS105 has been flying "Osaka >> Anchorage >> Chicago" for the last 3 weeks or so.

I believe UPS105 is also carrying a large supply for Apple Stores because if I remember correctly, Apple actually mentioned that all in-store units come in through Chicago.

Im just totally bummed out when my phone left china this morning around 10AM and is en route to AK then to Louisville and I'm located inside louisville but will not receive my phone till thursday.

If my phone left Osaka to Anchorage then on to Chicago, I thought it would have to go to Louisville so it gets sorted to Miami. I wonder if they are taking shipments off that flight and loading it on another flight to Louisville.

We have the same shipping info! What's your delivery date?

Same shipping info here as well! I had a 9/25 delivery date until this AM... when it updated to departed from ZhengZhou at 5:20pm the scheduled delivery updated to 9/26. Sad, but it's still better than the October delivery date that I was originally given.

Hey y'all.. I'm in the 5:20PM 9/22 group:

ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2014 5:20 P.M. Departure Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/20/2014 7:58 P.M. Arrival Scan

If I'm on EST, that means my phone left at 5:20AM, my time, correct? And its 4PM already here..

BUT where is my phone?? A lot of people checked in over Korea but ours haven't yet and it is currently over 10 1/2 hours past the shipment's local departure time at Zhengzhou. Isn't there a 24 hour change along the way to Anchorage? Will it go straight to Anchorage?

Also, I am very upset that my delivery date, which was a very modest Thursday 9/25, was moved to Friday 9/26 upon the departure scan update. Which doesn't make sense considering other people are near me on their departure but are going to receive it tomorrow or Wednesday. I live in Michigan which is east coast but kind of tucked away.. Still..

Who else is in my group? ;)

I don't know what to tell you... I had mine held pretty soon after I got the tracking info. By the time it reached Shanghai, it updated and had the same arrival date as before - 9/25

Shanghai, China 09/22/2014 9:13 P.M. Departure Scan
Shanghai, China 09/21/2014 12:45 A.M. Arrival Scan
09/20/2014 9:35 A.M. A UPS My Choice® delivery change was requested for this package. / The receiver arranged to pick up the package at a UPS facility.
ZhengZhou, China 09/20/2014 1:45 A.M. Departure Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/19/2014 9:47 P.M. Location Scan
09/19/2014 6:37 P.M. Origin Scan
China 09/19/2014 9:35 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

why the hell are our phones going to chicago?

if they are sending them to different areas of the US, why not put then on a plane directly to ontario?

Chicago is also UPS hub just like Louisville (I think)

Apple mentioned about a week or so ago that many flights are coming in through Chicago. My guess is they're using the same logic from the 1800s that Chicago can be used as a hub to disperse goods throughout the area from the center.

Well that's dumb. Who uses a train anymore?! That's like sending a letter instead of email. China needs to work their way into the 21st century already. Lol.
