Exactly. So post an update so customers and CR reps know, and update the status posting accordingly. Delays happen, especially where government is involved UPS should be held blameless. But they also have taken custody of something that isn't theirs and is transporting it between two parties. There needs to be better transparency for all parties involved, including the shipper.

See the thing is, our packages are just a portion of what UPS is shipping everyday they probably didn't feel the need to post such notice. Don't forget Apple is using both UPS and Fedex to ship these phones. Unless Chinese government imposed a 3-5 delays to all UPS packages out of China, then they probably will not post any sort of notification.

Not to mention it was the weekend too.

And still later than people who can walk into an apple store right now and buy one even though we "pre-ordered"

True, but it isn't quite that easy. You have to see the Apple Store update their supply and purchase online for ins-store pickup. Maybe where you live is different, but nobody around Orlando can simply walk-in and get a 6+. The supply is still too constrained for that.

I appreciate contributions to this thread as much as the next guy, but wild guesses passed off as inside information is where I draw the line.

While I understand the sentiment, we don't know what's going on yet. I would wait until later today to light the torches and grab the pitchforks. I am under no illusion that I'm getting my phone today, but maybe UPS is behaving in a non-standard way. Techedude would have been smarter, maybe, not to throw around guarantees (unless, in the end, he really was trolling us) but I for one am not ready to crucify anyone here.

If you do not have a departure scan from Lousiville, it is not a glitch. You are still there. Phones would be out for delivery already if they had made it to your local hub.

Agree, but I don't understand why even though we are delay ups site still shows us it's on time lol...

could anyone call the ups customer service and ask why our items stuck in kentucky fried chicken? i cannot ask because i sold my phone.

If your phone doesn't have an Import Scan and doesn't leave Louisville by 7 am, it's probably not getting out of there until 5pm, so expect it Wednesday.

Dang. Is that 7am KY time? As long as I know what day so I can hopefully leave early enough from work to accept the package. Otherwise I may have to drive across the city to pick it up at Will Call.

Houston here. The only two flights out that I could find were:

UPS772 (Already landed)

UPS774 (Landing now)

Didn't get a departure scan so I'm guessing mine didn't make it on either of those. Right now, I can't find any other flights going out.

Houston here as well. Let's hope that ours were on one of those flights. Some people's tracking has a departure scan from KY and an arrival scan at their local hub with the same time stamp, which means they didn't update any tracking until it arrived at their local hub. I hope that's the case. Unfortunately for me, if flyingwasabi is right in the above post, then not until Wednesday...

Team 520- I have another departure scan at 5:00 pm in Zhengzhou, hopefully that means we're actually leaving today!

Not crucifying, just calling out inaccuracies at the moment.

I was never under the illusion or impression I was getting my phone before 9/25. They never bumped my date and there was never any reason except a select few "inside sources" to indicate that UPS would be moving these faster than promised.

Not true, Just spoke to someone at UPS and they said sometimes scan records are delayed by a few events, ex: you tracking won't show its departed Louisville till it been scanned at your local UPS hub.

I don't get this at all. Doing the store lottery is just that, lottery. I am buying the full price T-Mobile unlocked 6+ which is fairly rare out there apparently (because this is the model those scalpers are buying to resell). It's never in stock everytime I check stores in CT, RI, and MA area. Maybe the model you want is available, that's more power to you.

I would have seen a couple scans by now if my package were headed to my local hub: an arrival to and departure from San Antonio to the hub that's south of the little town that I live near. That's where all my UPS packages go before they get loaded onto a truck between 9-10am for delivery. There's no way my stuff will be here today.

Best bet at this point is that our packages leave sometime this afternoon for delivery tomorrow. I wouldn't even be too surprised if my package was slow-rolled between San Antonio and my local hub and I got it on the 25th as UPS is still reporting will happen.

Well my local ups hub opens at 9:30 so I will have to see... But losing hope for today already...I had a set date delivery for 9/23 not bumps or anything lol

That's *********

ZhengZhou, China 09/23/2014 5:00 P.M. Departure Scan
ZhengZhou, China 09/22/2014 5:20 P.M. Departure Scan

Same here. A 2nd departure scan from same city 24 hours later. My delivery was adjusted + 1 day to Friday.

Shouldn't matter.

Are you telling me UPS has to keep track of more information than twitter does over a weekend?

These packages aren't theirs. They owe the shipper and recipient full disclosure at all times as to where a package is. In this day and age of technology, this isn't too much to expect regardless of who the shipper is.

they will keep it for two more days in KY just to deliver it on Thursday

Fair enough. I will admit that I never really believed that our stuff would be here today, but techedude seemed so damn sure that it was pretty convincing. ;) Oh well, no gold for him.

Again, as far as I know, I've never seen UPS or any other shipping companies give updates when there's unexpected issues affecting a small amount of their customers (whose packages are being delivered early nonetheless). I saw Fedex and UPS post a notification when there's bad weather in Louisville or Memphis and they think it'll slow some shipments down but they never give specific updates. You see, announcing to the world that they might have "batches of shipments being held in Chinese customs" not only alienate said country (which might piss them off further) and cause unnecessary panic among their customers and businesses relying on their shipments when in reality, it might be only 5 pallets of stuff being held up which, in the grand scheme of things, are extremely small amount.

Perhaps you should start a new logistics company to break the mold ;)
