I think people are little gunshy about taking UPS employee "insider information" at face value, considering the "guarantees" that were given that all these phones would be delivered today. Not your fault, of course.

Also, I've worked for the federal government (DoD) my entire adult life, and I can confirm that it is slow and inefficient, and often even detrimental.

Yeah, but I was the one who said Sunday that the phones were still in China and would leave Monday morning at 4:45 am eastern time, and that's exactly when they left, and I told you guys exactly what time they'd be in Louisville and that some would be delivered Tuesday, some Wednesday, and probably a tiny tiny minority Thursday. It's just people ignored me and listened to the rainbow and unicorns predictions. Lol

Finally, the three words I've been waiting for... 'Out for Delivery'.

Amazing how fast these things move after they hit the US!

It was a long wait, but still two days 'earlier' than Apple's order status ETA.

I won't exhale until it's in my hands, and fully inspected, of course. ;)

Like I mentioned earlier, flyingwasabi hasn't steered us wrong. You're info has been solid for as long as I've been reading this forum.

It won't make it until tomorrow. If your delivery date was today I would call UPS/Apple and bug em, but you're getting it tomorrow. Everybody with Wednesday or Thursday date who doesn't have an import scan at Louisville, your phone will leave Louisville 5-6pm tonight and be there tomorrow, and that's a fact. I'm right there with you, want my phone today.

Boooo. My deliv still shows today but I'm not going to call anyone. What are they supposed to do about it? Go fetch it from Louisville for me? Tomorrow is still better than 10/1-10/6... Just UPS messing with me getting my hopes up saying 9/23, then 9/22, then 9/23... now it's - JUST KIDDING - it's 9/24! Maybe...But we still show In Transit ON time.

You're right! I'm not meaning to diminish your contributions in any way; people are just fickle. ;)

I would have thought that too until this crap. I guess Alaska is just a stop to refuel and change crew

Alaska is just a refueling stop. Many, many flights from Europe and Asia stop there to refuel before going to the "lower 48". It's not just carriers stopping either. Many of the the other major airlines stop here as well. You could think of it as one of, if not the, major pacific hub of the USA.

The Ted Stevens airport is beautiful as it recently underwent a $500 million dollar renovation on the 3 main concourses.

Well except when I erroneously thought that the ZhengZhou shipment might have snuck out to Louisville by Saturday, but after that window came and passed I kinda knew they never left China. The tracking system is sometimes slow but not "misses 5 scans in a row on a million phones" bad I don't think. Lol

Seriously though, I'll repeat one more time so I can quote myself and gloat later, your Louisville packages will get an import scan sometime in the next few hours, and depart Louisville around 5 pm rush hour and 99% of you will have the phones tomorrow, even if it says Thursday (myself included). :)

Arrrrr! Customs is holding up my shipment; no import scan at Louisville yet. Feh. There goes any chance of delivery today. Hopefully tomorrow! 9/25 worst case.

i still have my hopes up, mine says is still on KY, and delivery date of today. I have bad experiences with the UPS tracking here in FL, I don't if its the servers or what, but I can track a product all day and is still on another state, but then I track the number again 5min later and 4-5 scanning updates, and the magic word of out for delivery appears. it normally lags for 2-3 hours before I see the actual position of my package, this happens some times.

What if the Chinese government implanted trackers into the phones they were doing their "security scan" on and now the U.S. government is having to get the trackers out during the "customs inspection" and we never get our phones?

Same here and in Florida as well but highly doubt we are getting our phones today without the customs scan by now
