I'd think that they would rather have the extra supplies to sell at the physical locations for people that stayed up overnight.

Yes, especially since some of those people probably got up at 245AM on Sep 12.

I stayed up the morning of 9/12 and was ready to place an order with Apple for the unlocked iPhone 6 Plus. Unfortunately Apple Store was down for 2 solid hours until 5:00am. If Apple had prepared better for the preorder, all of us would be getting our phones on Friday.

I am actually one of the people that got up at 2:45AM on Sep. 12 as well. Believe me I was one of the people spamming refresh on the Apple.com site since I wanted the T-Mobile version.

I've seen people order via VPN servers and some from the west coast were able to get the Apple.com before me (NJ). It wasn't until 5:20AM that the site finally was up for me, but all I am saying is that at least I was in the comfort of my own home instead of camping out for at least 5 hours.

Not diminishing what I went through but I'd think people who camped out would be more upset than I am.

I completely agree. I don't like thinking about it because I get really frustrated. Anyone who was up at 2:55AM trying deserves a launch day iPhone.

Really frustrated watching everyone else tracking shipments, when ordered before them. Had an order in to at&t about 10 mins before official launch time, but decided to wait and go with apple since it has always worked before. Guess not this time. Will be more frustrated if I can't get one in store.

I doubt AT&T would have proved any better than Apple. They never do.

You can find it like that when preparing to ship, then you get the tracking number when it officially ships. Not sure what scares you.

Don't know. Just some of these people that ordered it for the 9/19 delivery -and yet the order still shows as "Processing." Could be a flaw in the system and it hasn't updated...

Lots of people who ordered in the first two hours with them are getting shipping notices today for Friday delivery. I thought the same initially, which is why I went Apple.

Yes, and lots of people who had Sept 19th dates with AT&T are now showing Oct or even Nov. With short stock, the most likely place to get one is still Apple. Carrier stores are usually the first ones to get inventory-screwed.

I wouldn't really be worried if it's an Apple Store order. They can ship direct from China tomorrow and still get to your door by end of day on 9/19.

And I'm going to take that back....sorry for the false alarm, alarming myself also. Most of these seem to be orders made on ATT. Some look like they were even pushed back to mid-late November! That is brutal!

...on a much happier note. About 20 minutes until my IOS8 finishes downloading. :D

Count me in as one of the dumb ones that waited until the apple online store came up to order thinking that their inventory was separate and more plentiful than any others. That was a mistake cause once it came up immediately all 6+'s were sitting at 7-10 day wait. That really ticked me off how poorly it was handled by Apple.

Delivery date of Oct 6 - 10 until an Apple Manager contacts me back regarding my situation. On to plan B in the meantime. I'm first in line at my local Apple Store. Not me physically but a fill-in until I can get there tomorrow evening :)

That's still much better than getting moved back to November shipping such as the case with AT&T. :)

Another site said Foxconn is making 140,000 six pluses and 400,000 sixes a day, mines still on processing October 1-6 so I doubt it will be here by Friday. I ordered an AT&T 128 6 plus slate through apple.com using a reservation I got when their store app couldn't validate my info with att. The main site didn't become available until about three hours after preorders went live which was frustrating because I had to use apple gift cards. I guess I will wait in line overnight at an apple store.

I think we're all screwed. Wouldn't be surprised one bit to see our times slip down to later October or worse...

Don't beat yourself up, yeah the site on the regular computers was a complete mess. I was trying that and the Apple Store app...finally went with the app around 3:15am ET - when THAT finally came online. SO close to the purchase and the 9/19 date, app crashed! Then it was sluggish. Got a reservation # and here I am. 7-10 days also.

I still don't see the reasoning behind wasting hours on the phone to expedite shipping when all iphone orders are expedited and & shipped VIA UPS or FEDX w/signature required.

Also - continuously calling to get something for nothing seems just a little spoiled & self entitled for no reason. With 4 million pre-orders, trust me you weren't the only ones who's ship date slipped if that's in fact why you'd think you deserved something extra. I personally don't think that warrants "free stuff".

Again, getting free cases from a multi-billion dollar company doesn't make me feel bad whatsoever

Did you pay him? How much?

Any news on our group yet guys?

What news are you looking for? We wont have any "news" until next week gets here...

Yes, $50 will keep him there until tomorrow evening.
I always use the same panhandler for camp-outs. I feel bad but it beats trying to collect that at a stop light.

$50 for standing in line 24hours?? Doesn't seem justified even to a bums standard!!

I have not heard nothing from our group of Oct 1-6th. Mine is still in processing… Shipping 7-10 days from the sep 12th date and delivery around Oct 1-6. I don't look for a change until after Saturday as some people may cancel their online orders and go to the store to pick one up. So the soonest we would see any change in my estimate would be after Friday night or basically Saturday.

Honestly, I am not expecting it to arrive any earlier than what the dates say, Oct 1-6. Especially in light of recent production issues, strikes and constricted screens. In fact, I think many of us will be lucky if the dates don't slip.
