#Team9/25 can pretty much give up for today. UPS is holding them on purpose.

HOPEFULLY those dolts get us our phones on schedule, Thursday. Starting to get worried about that because I'm going out of state Friday morning.

:apple:

I can't believe they are just going to let the phones sit there for this long when others are moving right along, load of crap

lol...give me a break. How freaking tight would your pants have to be to apply the same amount of pressure as someone straining to bend the phone with his hands? This isn't reflective of real-world use or pressures that your phone is going to be subjected to; it's completely sensationalized.

I've been thinking about getting a holster just because the phone is pretty big to keep in my pocket, but maybe that's a solution skinny jean hipsters should consider as well?

Purses .... you just need to start carrying purses :p ;)

Arrival scan in Newark at 5:31pm. I can see the airport from my office. The hub is only 30 minutes away and open until 7:30pm. Any chance I can get it tonight?

No, I don't believe that at ALL. Phones that arrived around the same time (perhaps even later) have gone through Customs and left KY. UPS hasn't scanned ours for customs. It's 100% on UPS IMHO.

UPS does not want your phone! In fact I would bet that they want it out of the way just like any other package. When packages sit around they hold up everything else. The bulk of shipments leave Louisville in the middle of the night to regional hubs around the country. They will get it there as soon as they can.

It has been a frustrating experience for us all and we will all be glad to have our phones in our hands.

Newark, NJ, United States 09/23/2014 5:31 P.M. Arrival Scan

Finally, people with NJ as final delivery address, you should have an arrival scan soon.

I'm NJ but 25th ... don't even have an import scan yet ... find this ridiculous ... if it can be delivered earlier ... which it clearly can ... its should be ...

Let's say our phones aren't on the delayed 099 flight. The next flight is at 8:55am (flight 186). What's strange is the flight AFTER that one is a direct to Louisville at 12:05pm (flight 011). That would actually be the best scenario!

Still 12p is too late for a tomorrow delivery. So thats been thrown out the window. And im not holding my breath on Thursday either anymore. Not sure why we are being lagged behind, unless there is a service delay, which makes sense, but a delay just because is not ok.

How do you explain those with 9/25 dates not moving when others are then. Huge coincidence?

Like I said my phone is in Alaska and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I hope it does, next stop is KY then to WV :) Its not really that far, holding out hope!

Not trying to rub salt in any wounds here, but I'm just stopping in to say thanks to everyone that helped in this thread while we waited for our phones!

Mine was waiting for me when I got home, my tracking scan is on page 293 if you'd like to see what stops it made on its way to MS. It's a 6+ Gold 64GB, ordered from Apple.com a few minutes after the site went live.

I'll miss all of you!

Also, I have huge hands so please don't think the phone is small. It's massive and amazing.

It looks great in your hands!! Congrats! Same time next year? Or perhaps, in early 2015 for :apple:watch?

We're all expedited, at least me and a few other people. This is BS..

Yeah I have no idea how they chose that, I didn't call and asking for the faster shipping or anything. I am sure that is what has happened though, the Saver which UPS states as "Delivery within one or two business days from Asia, Europe, and Latin America" and Expedited "Delivery within four or five business days from Europe, Asia, and Latin America" is the difference.

I own a business that deals with UPS and FedEx more than I would like too since they are both getting more unreliable as they try to trim employee hours while moving more packages. Custom Critical will bump Overnight, Overnight will bump 2-Day, 2-Day will bump 3-Day, and so on if/when they still have days built into your "guaranteed" window. Last Thursday I was speaking with our UPS driver who we see daily and is a good enough work friend that I have his cell# and if we need something on his truck first thing in the AM he will make it happen. I asked him if he was ready for Friday and delivering all the iPhones and he said it was the first he had heard of it. Talked to him Monday and he said I was right he delivered a ton of phones but the worst part was that they had cut 3 routes/drivers that day with nobody from higher every pushing it down the line that Friday would be crazy busy. Which is ridiculous since the are the "preferred" apple shipping company.

Strange how, just by dumb luck, customs is only holding up the phones, by sheer coincidence, that Apple/UPS randomly assigned lesser shipping to.

Bingo, its not customs.... its UPS prioritizing the shipments. The ones that had earlier delivery times are on planes. The rest of us sit waiting.... its the luck of the draw really. If you want to blame someone, blame UPS.

All of which proves that one company is not capable of handling this. For future launches, Apple needs to split the contract evenly among UPS and Fedex.

After having my iPhone Plus bend its way around the globe, it has finally landed in Newark! Delivery set for tomorrow. :)

Thank you for everyone for being together on the journey! I still have a little further to go, so I will not be leaving this thread just yet. I hope someone bends some rules to get those iPhones not scanned yet, in and out of Louisville so you see the flexibility the new phone brings you!

That's weird. I have the same import scan but it never left Kentucky and in expecting a delivery in NJ.

I fully accepted that this was the fault of U.S. customs earlier in the day. But I admit, the length of time this has gone on does make me wonder. Mine got into Louisville at 1:56 AM. As of right now it has still not seen an import scan. I guess somebody's got to be at the back of the line, so I can believe it would still be customs.

At the same time, this now requires believing that it has taken the entire day to scan this shipment of iPhones through customs, with some not even making it through. How is the entire facility not horrifically backlogged as a result (maybe it is?).

In the end, my shipment (which uses Expedited, not Saver -- through absolutely no choice of my own) was scheduled for 9/25 delivery all along, so I have no trouble believing it was deprioritized from the start. Despite the fact that I stayed up just as late as you all and paid the same amount of money. And that's really the only thing here that bothers me. I didn't pay any less money and was no less vigilant, but I (and others in my situation) got the short end of the stick, seemingly arbitrarily.

This consternation will all be forgotten in a couple of days when these things finally arrive, though. :)

At this point I don't care how many experts weigh in or how ridiculous it may seem to do so, but there's more than enough evidence that anyone with a 9/25 delivery is clearly getting held back. I'm still hanging onto some small sliver of hope, because the only flight from KSDF to my local hub runs daily around 4am, and they clearly can import and ship overnight, since several people who got in last night got processed and delivered today. So not having an import scan yet doesn't mean it's not coming, but there's no way the 9/25s are being processed as the come off the plane. They're being held back.

That's exactly how I feel

Or blame the theories of logistics that keep packages moving at the rate that they do. Or don't blame anyone unless your phone got to you later than promised. Drink a beer and make some love and sleep soundly tonight.
