That's certainly your prerogative and I understand how you'd feel that way. I mainly meant that the frustration will evaporate; I'm sure there are many who will use this event to inform their future decisions. Both in terms of who they ship with, and how they decide to order / preorder Apple products.I totally understand what you're saying in this post except for the last part.
I won't ever forget this. When I ship packages, I will now go out of my way to use Fedex. I've NEVER had anything similar to this happen with them and in an old job I used to ship 30-50 packages over night, 5 days a week.
UPS lost a customer today. Sure, with Apple shipments I may not have a choice, but I definitely do with all my other shipping needs.

Personally, I have more of a beef with Apple for the pre-order system that presented the user with nonsensical behavior (store shows as down for me, and up for the next guy), and the arbitrary decision to assign me a deprioritized shipping method (which I presume was Apple's decision) right from the start.
