I totally understand what you're saying in this post except for the last part.

I won't ever forget this. When I ship packages, I will now go out of my way to use Fedex. I've NEVER had anything similar to this happen with them and in an old job I used to ship 30-50 packages over night, 5 days a week.

UPS lost a customer today. Sure, with Apple shipments I may not have a choice, but I definitely do with all my other shipping needs.

:apple:
That's certainly your prerogative and I understand how you'd feel that way. I mainly meant that the frustration will evaporate; I'm sure there are many who will use this event to inform their future decisions. Both in terms of who they ship with, and how they decide to order / preorder Apple products.

Personally, I have more of a beef with Apple for the pre-order system that presented the user with nonsensical behavior (store shows as down for me, and up for the next guy), and the arbitrary decision to assign me a deprioritized shipping method (which I presume was Apple's decision) right from the start.

I have, more than once, had FedEx hold a package in a distribution center because otherwise it would have been delivered "early". They do the exact same stuff.

Tell you one thing.. if I don't get my delivery by 9/25 I'm calling Apple and raising holy hell. I will escalate my complaint as far as I can and then I will email every Apple executive I can. I will throw a loyal customer temper tantrum the likes they have never seen and rage/cry/moan/bitch until all the Apple decision makers know how unhappy I am with UPS.

What was the estimated shipping date that Apple gave you?

Your blood pressure, not mine.

710er still stuck in KY.

Now if the phone is sent to NY late tonight or tomorrow but doesn't go out for delivery until 9/25, could I theoretically go to the UPS center to pick it up tomorrow?

#Team520

It has been a sad two days for us. Stuck in ZhengZhou. Stuck in Incheon. Next thing I know we'll be stuck in Anchorage.

I hope yours comes late, what a glorious day it would be ;)

It's actually 99.999% automated. In most cases, the only time it will be touched by human hands is when it comes off a plane, and gets on the next one.

But even automated systems have a maximum capacity. I would have to think that hundreds of thousands of packages would have some sort of impact. As others noted, though, customs is likely a huge (maybe only?) part of the equation, too.

All I know is that my phone is scheduled for Thursday. If it comes, I'll be thrilled. If not, I'll be patient knowing that it'll be here someday. My contentment doesn't require a phone, but it'll be fun when it arrives.

Can someone explain this?

I can't explain it, but I think the Incheon scan was an error. I think our phones are currently on UPS81 en route to Anchorage currently.

Samesies!

I am still showing delivery tomorrow by end of the day but I know with customs that is a pipe dream.

Google is claiming that UPS99 is in-air. I tried to figure out where they get their data from, but had no success. Is it possible that they're right and FlightAware (and others) have incomplete info??

Thanks, luckily I live in louisville and I hope to get it tomorrow as the delivery date is 9-24.

My phone, which left Louisville at 4:18pm, just got an arrival scan at Windsor Locks, CT at 6:28pm ET.

:apple:

But why? I think that 5 days from Asia-->USA is completely reasonable. If it comes early, GREAT! If not, shoot oh well. What happened with your shipment though? Did I miss something? I thought we were having fun complaining, laughing, and joking but this seems serious…What was your original delivery date? Mine is 9/25

I can't explain it, but mine did the same thing, diff times though. Strange?

I don't even have a Departure Scan :(

Last update I have:

Louisville, KY, United States 09/23/2014 12:30 P.M. Import Scan

Scheduled delivery is tomorrow..

Perhaps it's slow to scan? You seem to have the custom scan so I think you would be in the same boat as me. Maybe wait for it to update.
