Oct. 1 to 6 Delivery Date Orders (Update) Shipping earlier!

I thing there is one to Boeing Field....is that near Portland or is that too far away?

----------

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS982

Isn't that in Seattle? I don't think it'd go there and then come to Portland... But who knows. If I remember correctly, my 5s last year was flown directly from Louisville to Portland overnight.

However, it's possible that they fly it into Boeing Field, load it onto a trailer, and drive it to Portland. It's about a three and a half hour drive. If they did that throughout the day tomorrow, I could certainly see it arriving on Thursday.

I am not a fan of lines.. I may not wait in line next year or whenever i upgrade next but I will sure do things differently than how I did it this time. Thats a for sure... my friend.
I think next time, I'll just wait for stocks at the retail store to normalize. Yeah, I say that now, but maybe I'll remember this experience and stop myself.

#Team9/25. Never forget.

I was barely able to place an order at 3:43 am (eastern time zone). So yesterday I called UPS and asked why my order was stuck in China for 3 days. UPS told me that Apple chose a slower shipping method, and it's still scheduled to be on time (9/25).

So I called Apple and asked, why did you guys select a slower shipping method for me? They told me that expedited shipping is not available for preorders, only standard shipping. I asked why my phone was stuck in China for 3 days and then stuck in Louisville overnight without moving. (It still hasn't been imported 24 hours later). The apple representative told me that I was originally quoted a delivery dated of 10/1 - 10/6 so I should be happy that it's scheduled for an earlier delivery.

I said that I had trouble placing the order and was barely able to place the order after 43 minutes of trying. I expected to have a release date delivery. She said that the carrier's needed to give approval (confirm eligibility) and that was also slowing down preorders. I told her that the carriers had nothing to do with Apple's website not working. She told me that there was no promised time for when preordering would start.

Makes me wonder if I want to give Apple my money, just on the principle of it. Apple does some incredible engineering, but this process is really sucking the joy out getting a beautiful new phone. Sure, the iPhone 6 is a better phone than my iPhone 5, but my purchase (128 gb 6+) is mainly out of desire and not need.

That desire is rapidly turning into disgust, and any thoughts I had about purchasing an apple watch are quickly dissipating.

So is this reasonable, or do I sound like I'm spoiled and whining?

NO you have a legitimate beef, in my eyes. Figures that Apple would take the cop out that Well it was scheduled for Oct 1-6th but who knows maybe Apple pushed those dates ahead on purpose so they would not have to make amends for what they did.

She was actually speaking the truth. Everything she said isn't far fetched.

My phone departed Louisville at 2:51 PM today on route to its final destination (Minnesota). Evidently, it's traveling by camel, since I have yet to see it scanned in at any UPS facility in my state.

Delivery Date is still Tomorrow by 3PM, just waiting for this to change on me again haha.

Okay. So I just checked my tracking info and it says it departed from DFW airport? I live in Dallas so I have no vlue where it departed to. Does anyone have any idea about this?

no thats not legitimate beef

And I would not blame you. But don't blame me I got it off the internet. Like they say everything you read on the internet is true right? yeah right or is it everything you read on the internet must be correct right? Still doubtful up to a point.

Wait, you're telling me everything on the net is NOT true?
Oh. yeah well I received an email from someone in Nigeria, knows of a large amount of unclaimed money, about 30 million and it can be mine if I transfer $7000 to some bank by 3pm tomorrow! Sounds like the read deal to me, I'm all over that easy money! (total scarcasm by the way) :)

But hey, in this day and age of searching through iPhones, various packages, I wouldn't be shocked. Hell, going through Airport security you have to turn your smart phones on and hit buttons in front of an officer just to get on a plane now.

even so, she may have spoke the truth but its not fair. Apple should have given everyone ( that means All Apple) either standard shipping or Air Saver... but not mix and match the shipment methods. So so... whats the word.....

------> Someone insert word here <-----

just checked and mines still scheduled to be delivered on Thu. Last activity showed it arriving in Louisville KY at 1:56 AM local time. Hope my baby gets here safe and sound :)

Regardless of when all our phones arrive, I think most of us can agree that this was an extremely botched process, from Apple and the pre-orders to UPS and shipping the damn things. Even my brother had trouble with Apple customer service trying to exchange his 6 Plus for a 6. Now, everyone's experience may be different, but in my eyes, this has not been a pleasant experience.

However, we'll all look back on this once we have our phones and laugh. Hell, I'll come back to this thread and read over all of the comments!

I asked my supervisor why my package was being held for so long at WorldPort. His explanation was that it is a Worldwide Expedited service level and Ups considers that as the equivalent of a 2nd day Air. When my clerk pulled up my tracking it says its equivalent of a ground package for some places. I am in Florida so I was told that it will be scanned in the morning and placed on a trailer to Tennessee. After it arrives to Tennessee it will be scanned and driven to the Orlando hub. Delivered on Thursday. I actually couldn't believe it. The way it is going it makes sense.

In FL, too. Stuck in KY since yesterday, too.

And arbitrarily giving people preferential shipping treatment is bad customer service, plain and simple. Yeah, they beat the 10/1 - 10/6 window, but for those of us F5ing the Apple Page for over an hour at 3am, it's little consolation given the fact that ours should have arrived on 9/19 if Apple just had their **** together. So yeah, they can tow that party line all they want, but the expectation that I should be showing them gratitude for this shipping nonsense is the part that makes me really question my continued loyalty.

"Be grateful the phone exists and we allowed you to purchase it."

i'm right there with you.... (so maybe that makes me spoiled an whiney, too?) but i don't care! apples presales SUCK.

if they would do a straight FIRST COME FIRST SERVED and stop this ******** where they only allow a few phones for release day presale so they can stock their stores... everyone would be better off.

they'd still have their large numbers.... but in a fairer manner..

so so true about this whole fiasco sucking the joy out of a WANT of a phone (and not where near a need)

another 4am flight headed toward my city in a few hours

still don't have my import scan

they're literally just keeping the phone sitting in Louisville

i can't.

again these are "world ease" ... all the customs documents were prepared and pre-approved in advance by ups as part of a logistics perk... it literally takes the guy to go "hmm.. looks like the right sized box... good to go" .. with the maybe 1 in 1000 "okay lets make sure this is really what you said it is"... no.. either ups decided to hold them back.. or UPS failed to get the documents in their hands... (one shipment in this thread couldnt leave china because apple failed to get the documents in UPS's hands that it needs to get the package into the US).

Again, this seriously has nothing to do with Customs, UPS is sitting on the packages because god forbid they get here a day early.

C ya enjoy now we got to wait for the jailbreak c u in that forum i

I just spoke with UPS and he confirmed that they are absolutely holding our packages until the last moment they can ship to be delivered on 9/25. He told me that my package was a lower priority and that it was apples decision who got expedite or service shipping. The higher priority packages are shipped first and the rest just have to wait. They simply don't consider a more than 24 hour layover a delay because it's not scheduled until Thursday... So instead of maybe trying to get ahead of their backlog they are content to let our packages sit...

It has now been 24 hours since my iPhone arrived in Louisville, and no activity or movement at all.

Louisville, KY, United States 09/23/2014 1:34 A.M. Arrival Scan

I wish I could make this mash-up I have in my head:

Liam Neeson in Taken speaking his famous line "I have many skills..." And then the next frame, another person asking, "Can you do import scans?" Switch back to Liam looking sheepish, "Um... er, no..."

Unlike Liam, I lack the Photoshop skills. :p

Goodnight everyone. May our dreams of import scans and UPS planes taking off in the early mornings come true.

I feel like that is such poor management. Why not just get rid of the packages to make room for more? Nah, we'll just let them collect dust because their deliveries say this Thursday! If we get it to their door any earlier, then the customers may actually appreciate us!!
