Good Morning Everyone,

Well it seems that tomorrow is the big day for us 9/25ers as most of us scheduled on that date will get their import scans sometime today and most likely tonight. Then fly to our local hubs and out for delivery tomorrow. I already got a email from UPS confirming this. So all we can do is wait one more day. ;)

I wish I was this optimistic it would arrive tomorrow

Unbelievable.

Any idea when we should start seeing them?

No idea. Can be any time. I doubt we'll hear from techedude or flyingwasabi since all the impatient and rude people ran them off. At this point, I'm just accepting that it will happen when it happens. No amount of refreshing the page, calling Apple or UPS will make the import scan show up any faster.

Hell, I'd love it if my own delivery were pushed to Friday. That way I can be home to sign and not have to worry about rushing to the UPS center to pick it up tomorrow morning and then rushing to train station to get to D.C. for class.

EDIT: I actually dreamed about tomorrow last night. I was leaving to go to the Metro station and the UPS guy was walking up my drive with my brown box. Then I woke up and realized that it was just a dream. I cried.

9/25
Just spoke to UPS (clicked iphone call when prompted)
The agent informed me that my iPhone was in transit and would be available for pickup at 10 am tomorrow at local UPS in Va
When I prompt UPS online, it still shows Louisville and no import scan.
Final point -- agent informed me that I would receive notification that iphone had been received at local Va UPS and is ready for pickup
We will see

I have enjoyed reading this thread since we have all been in the same boat (group) this whole time and held off on posting anything until yesterday. I am in the 1:34am 9/23/2104 arrival in KY, delivery on 9/25. I think we can now see that UPS does put packages to the side if the delivery date is later than others, which I agree makes perfect sense if they have a high package volume with more priority than others. I do not agree with UPS not going ahead and having the 9/25 deliveries pushed through customs to get the import scans. I remember reading a post early yesterday that said UPS would not be dividing the packages up for import scan because it would be to time consuming. That was obviously not the case. Also it was said UPS does not want to hold on to the package because it would clog the system. That was also obviously wrong since the planes that came in last night that had express saver delivery packages pushed though import and shipped out while ours just sat there supposedly in the way. I guess the custom scans were working fine, they just did not want to have them pushed through. Maybe if they had been pushed through then they would then be in the way, I don't know. I do hope I get mine tomorrow, as a previous person posted that UPS only has planes flying into Jackson, MS on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. My local UPS distribution center is 3.5 hours from Jackson so I may or may not get mine tomorrow. I am glad many of you got your phones yesterday and will get them today. I have never followed a tracking of a package like this before. It has been interesting to learn how UPS operates and I will not have any problems with using them in the future as long as they hit the date they have always said mine would be delivered which it probably will. I have only had a couple of occasions when they missed a delivery date and they were both last Christmas shopping season.

My fellow Mississippian! I knew when we missed that Tuesday flight that we would be waiting until Thursday! However, my UPS friend who is a sorter in Jackson said that the truck WILL wait on that airplane coming in on Thursday. (of course he only works there and said that based on his 15+ years of working there)
Are you in rural MS or near a big city? I am still hopeful for you for tomorrow. I think that they would already know by now if they were going to push you back to the 26th.

my phone has finally been released from being held hostage in ontario! WOOT!

my red case is out for delivery!

hubby's black case is out for delivery!

my hot pink phantomskinz is out for delivery!

it's CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will, I know that now. We are being treated like 2nd day air or lower priority than the Air Saver people. Its a bit unfair that Apple has chosen to give Air Saver(overnight service) to some select individuals and expedited (2nd day air ) to others. :(

I agree but if it gets here tomorrow I'll be fine. Please oh please

They are a business and have a right to operate profitably. Why should they incur additional expenses to get you your phone sooner for a service that wasn't paid for.

Except they actually incur more expense from holding in their warehouse and the additional labor cost of pulling it off the line and put it back on the line... granted, of course, that they make that up by selling the non-labor added version at 15% more than the labor version to make back that profit. Thus the need to hold it, to specifically create a class of service to get people to buy the higher class of service with more margin. (There is no way they are that full of capacity they can't make these shipments).

Mine has also been in Lousville since 9/23 at 1:56 am. No movement per UPS website since. Still shows delivery scheduled for 9/25 (tomorrow). Beginning to think it's not going to happen.

I have not received one single notification from UPS during this entire long strange trip - I am signed up to receive emails AND texts - I have received exactly NOTHING.
Not to say you won't receive notice - I just saw an opportunity to vent about that - sorry.

Worldport is entirely automated. There were no real additional labor costs. The camera-based conveyers just shunted the iPhones someplace else. Maybe there was a cost putting them in a container, but it's not like someone was reading the labels and tossing them aside.
