Charged and Preparing for Shipment. YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I have no idea why all this tracking and looking is fun, I am way too happy right now lol.

Also preparing to ship for 6+ 128s At&t ordered thru apple, ordered about 3:25 est from app
No 'invoice' or entry in support profile. My cc doesn't show me pending.

I've had my iphone sitting on preparing to ship since day 1, it's not happening till October 1st. iPhone 6+ 128gb space gray, att order. They are all backordered, a handful of them will go out but most won't. And no stores will have the 128gb edition due to the backlog of orders.

You are probably right, though "preparing to ship" is still better than most of us had previously. So, at least its progress.

I hope it is not a trick just so that we can no longer cancel our orders and stand in line.

Oh yeah! Thanks guys! I checked my order and it's preparing for shipment as well! Excited to finally see some movement on this.

For reference:
AT&T iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB Space Gray
Ordered 3:04 AM CDT from Apple Store iOS app

No new device in my support profile yet.

Don't be so sure. Apple typically does not charge until just before shipment - these phones are not going to sit for a week before being shipped, I would bet anything on it. My guess is they ship tonight or tomorrow.

So it looks like the trick is to read a few other of from the last hour saying everyone else's phone has shipped on this thread. Then refresh your order page about 500 times and then YES IT SAYS FINALLY PREPARING FOR SHIPMENT!

Please do what I do for others so they have an idea of when there's may be coming up

TIME ORDERED: 5:10AM EST
CARRIER: AT&T
MODEL: IPHONE 6 PLUS 128GB SPACE GRAY

I agree with the above poster. I have no idea how you're phone would be sitting at preparing for shipment for over 6 business days. That's not how it happens typically.

So, what does "CC charged" actually mean?

It's a SOX violation to charge/invoice without having physical product shipped.

is it safe to assume that because our cards have been charged, and to be compliant, Apple should have shipped them physically or handed it over to the shipping carrier?

This is similar to what the Apple CSR told me the other day. Once charged, shipping is imminent.

Actually, these are only pending charges. Usually, when you order, you get the pending charge, then if it ships in time, it becomes permanent, if it doesn't ship in time (usually 5 days), then it drops off. Since most of us never got the initial pending charge to see if the card is good, this could be that "test" charge. They could drop off until they actually do ship. Either of you could be right, but don't be disappointed if its still a while.

It will be interesting to see if any of the "expedited shipping" calls paid off, or if we all see them at the same time. ;)

well if the LTE ipad mini preorders are any indication, those with overnight shipping will see theirs a day or two before the standard shipping folks.

Perhaps but every charge to a credit card is pending before it becomes a permanent charge. I never checked when I ordered on the 12th if they did the auth charge or not. Also, the status would not move from processing to preparing to ship if it was just an auth charge to verify funds... no way. I'm sticking with my bet these ship before the weekend.

Yes but the people that got the pending charge right when they ordered still had to wait a few days to have their status changed to "Preparing for Shipment", whereas ours are changing immediately.

Fabulous... still processing on all of mine. Thanks to the horrible reservation system, I'm surprised I even got an Oct 1-6 delivery date.

Do you get an email when it prepares for shipment, or do we just have to keep checking back on the Apple Order Status page?

I didn't get an email

My phone said "Preparing for shipment" for 6 days. I would say there is a chance some get it next week, but don't count on it. All "preparing for shipment" means is that they are done processing your order.

Remember to check UPS and "Track by reference" using your main lines phone number with no dashes as the reference.
