Mine went to preparing to ship today. Now here's a question - really I want a space gray model, and I was only able to order the silver. So I was going to wait on line tomorrow to try to get a space gray 6+. This is not an upgrade, I'm buying outright. So even if i've gone into preparing for shipment, do you think I'd still be able to buy one tomorrow morning and then just return the one that's being shipped when it arrives?

My CC was charged (pending) and order status now shows "Preparing for Shipment"!! Beyond exciting. 
I was also in Oct 1-6 bucket.

My space gray 6+ 128 gb ordered on 9/12 is now showing Preparing For Shipment and my CC has been charged. It will be here before my case that was ordered a day later.
Does everyone's card get charged BEFORE it goes to preparing for shipment? Just curious since my total was $0 because of Next and no sales tax, so I won't have any charge show up (even if I did, our credit union's website is crap and I can't see individual charges).

I really think we are going to get surprised, and will have our phones by tomorrow evening. This happened 2 years ago exactly. They didn't have stock until the major shipment hit our local departure/scanning center, and everything is going into full swing today. If we are getting Shipping Prep, they most likely have an iPhone ready at dispatch near your home. Can't wait yo!!!! No matter what, we are definitely getting our phones within 3 business days

So to understand, people who ordered through apple.com with an oct 1-6 delivery date, regardless of iphone 6 or plus, are getting preparing to ship status on apple.com?
Cool, my status changed from Processing to Preparing for shipment. I also checked my bank account and they have officially charged the money for the 2 phones, (taxes only it seems) since I went on the Next Plan for both iPhone 6 pluses. It still states Oct 1-6 for delivery but at this point I think that is about to change as well.
But I'm Excited. Should not be too long.. Maybe next week sometime if coming from China, or early next week if the phones are already here in USA.

My AT&T Next Apple.com order done at around 3:30am central on the 12th is still "Processing Items" and my bank info curently looks like this:

My estimated tax was $60.49 so maybe another charge coming.
