Whew...Apple rep said she could change the card and did and said I will not lose my place. Weird thing is she said the other card went through and didnt come back as declined. But better to be safe than sorry. I had to use my debit card which I didnt want to do. but at least my mind is at ease

I recommend anyone using Amex to call them and ensure any card-not-in-hand charges be allowed for the next week or so. I'm not sure how Apple handles a charge flagged as fraud (until verified by customer), but I'm guessing it involves a delay.

I called Amex and they updated my account to allow this for the next week (she asked how long it would take for the charge to occur).

Legit question.

All of those who are now in the "Preparing to ship" status, did you complete the order with no problems on the Apple Store App, website around 5am ET when it came back online.

Just wondering if us stuck in the "Processing" page is because we had to complete the order through that reservation email - received 3, 4 hours later. Orders were pushed back and day..maybe 2. Maybe 3? ugh.

I'm just glad I have a hold now for the purchase, first time anythings happened at all for me. Maybe that means it will ship soon

I agree. We're at the back of the line. I completed mine via reservation at 11am EST. Still processing.

Any other 6+ 64GB Gray ATT orders, with an Oct1-6 delivery date, yet to see any movement on the CC or shipping? I ordered 0526 EDT, Sep12.

Excuse my incessant posting about this (this thread is moving so fast it's easy to lose track of all the posts!)

But yes, I ordered the exact same phone ~3:40CST, no movement.

Same here. I have another phone in silver (same specs) that did change status earlier. Space Gray still no movement.

My story.

So, I got four orders through on pre-order night (all of them 7-10 day shipping) the very second Apple would allow me to. One of them ended up getting swapped out for one reservation that actually went through, and that phone delivers tomorrow, but that's not part of this story, really.

The other three phones were saying 7-10 days with the same Oct. 1st to 6th delivery date as everyone else. So I called Apple to ask what's up, ended up having an hour and a half long conversation with a really, REALLY nice girl from customer support. I SUPPOSE you could say it was more of an hour and a half of flirting than conversation, but that doesn't particularly matter.

She ended up expediting all of my orders to next day shipping, which changed the delivery dates to Sep. 29th to Oct. 1st. That sounded a lot better for me. This was on 9/12, shortly after I woke up at like 1PM EST.

Then on Sunday 9/14, those three orders updated to say that the delivery window was now Sep. 24th to Sep. 29th. Obviously I was really, really excited.

Fast forward to this morning--the orders have all updated to "Preparing for Shipment" and all pushed their dates back to Sep. 29th to Oct. 1st (!!!!) I immediately called Apple, bewildered, and after being put on hold 3 times by a guy who sounded EXACTLY like Lyle from Under the Dome (actor Dwight Yoakam), was eventually just told that there were over 4 million pre-orders and that my phone is in the warehouse to be shipped, but somehow despite overnight shipping, it'll be roughly 11+ days before I actually get my phones.

None of this makes any sense to me, and I'm kind of upset about it. That whole 9/24 delivery being dangled in my face is what ultimately killed me here. I went into my countdowns app and had to change the date and seeing that number jump up to 11 days, just...ugh.

What's the difference between "preparing to ship" and "preparing to dispatch" again because I've had both.

This is probably why a lot of CSRs were told to not expedite shipping. It's all expedited, and their systems can't handle pulling others ahead in the queue with such mass orders to fill. It makes sense to keep everything regimented and bulk. Cherry picking orders to fulfill first wouldn't make supply chain sense.

Just speculation. Sorry this happened to you, that is very frustrating.

Progress!

Wasn't showing any results a little while ago. Though I used the full 9-digit ZIP code this time instead of just the usual 5. The top reference is the full order number while the second is the phone number.

Hoping for an early delivery next week. Hovering over the purple arrows says "in transit" like the screenshot above. No serial number from Apple yet though.

Ordered on 9/12 at 04:30 CDT, did not go through reservation email. Still stuck in processing.

I wonder if some are going to be getting their phones tomorrow......a day before launch....status changed....cards charged.....showing some signs on the ups and fedex sites.......hmmmmmm:confused:

Wait wait wait... what is the delivery date on Fedex?!?

It doesn't have a delivery time. When I click on my order number it says the following pic.

I had to put in both my order number and phone number to get something to show up on fedex, ie- in progress status.

I had to put in my 9 digit zip code, not just the 5

Nice phone number that you have there :p.

I used the 9 digit zip code as well and got the same thing. I wonder the chances of getting the phone tomorrow!?!?!

Still progress, though! :)

Boggles me that it's so d*mn random. Eh whatever, I give up. Still tempted to walk into the Apple store tomorrow..if I actually get lucky and see the phone I ordered available. I'll try hard to get it.

Canceling the order wouldn't be the problem, its dealing with the ATT idiots making my phone eligible again in the system. That SHOULD be a one click, one second fix..but no. Not that easy.

I get the same thing now. Hope something is happening.

Just did the same thing; put in my two numbers and then a fake number (555 prefix) and they all showed the same result.

Sorry to suck the wind from everyone's sails.

Did Supportprofile.apple.com show it?
