Offical Mac OS X 10.5 shipping status - Via Apple's "Up To Date" program

Got mine today, Moncton NB.....ordered on the day they anounced leopard...shipped on the 25th.

Still nothing today, so I called them up, and they're sending me another... They said it will be here by wednesday. Let's see how this goes.

do you know how they are sending it?
what time is yours estimated to ship? mine is monday-wed with delivery possibly by wednesday, according to my online order status.
 
Alright. So i called Apple, told them my package hasn't arrived, and he said that he's going to send me a Full Retail Copy of Leopard!!! I'm pretty excited. Even though it'll take another 2 weeks, I'd rather get the bonus $129. Hopefully 10.5.1 will come out by that time.

Everyone who hasn't received their copy should do the same.

P.S. I'm in Ontario, Canada. They say it's not going to go through Canada Post because the customer support rep doesn't trust mailing services. I'm getting direct shipment. Sweet.

standard overnight... they said it would ship on monday-tuesday (no time specified), and be here by wednesday.

I'm also getting the retail version.

So I believe we're on the same boat. :)

in your order status it says the retail version? mine says it's another UTD fulfillment...do you guys think i should call back and complain?
 
You should definitely talk to Apple.
It does say "Retail" in Order Status.

Finally Apple is Good Again! it shipped via FedEx Overnight!

Called Apple today.
Ordered Leopard UTD Disk on October 17th. Did not arrive at all.
Call Apple and explained situation on November 10th. They shipped a FULL RETAIL Copy with Packaging Via FedEx Overnight at no charge.

I will have Leopard in my hands early next week. Thanks Apple, this actually works out into our favor, we get a Full Retail version of Leopard, with no limitations unlike the UTD Copy.

Apple emailed me a confirmation, confirming that it will deliver by/no later than November 12th, which is monday. :)

From the estimated delivery dates, this isn't fedex overnight is it? i don't think having the update version is that big of a deal for me, so i don't think i will make them reorder it.

I think you should contact apple because it is not fair you are still getting the regular limited functioning up-to-date leopard copy, you should get the full retail version just like every one else. You should also be getting free FedEx Overnight shipping. Where are you USA or Canada?

I'm in NY, and it was shipped already and I placed my replacement order today. It was shipped via FedEx Overnight. And has an estimated delivery of Monday, November 12th.

It looks like overnight shipping if it actually is shipped on the 14th and delivered by the 15th. Maybe the lee-way is for the delivery from the US to Canada and clearing customs (unless it's coming from a local factory in Ontario). If my UTD copy does arrive, then it's a double bonus isn't it?

Mine has shipped and according to FedEx its has be picked up from a station in Middletown PA since 10:55AM this morning and will be in NYC by 3:00PM tomorrow. Apple replaced my lost in the mail up-to-date copy with a full retail and overnight shipping.

Yup I got a confirmation email earlier today saying the package has shipped. Supplied with a package number. Says to be delivered by tomorrow. Overnight shipping it is!
 
Mine was picked up in Greensville, SC around 5:00 and is coming via FedEx ground. Bizarre, no? At least it's not USPS, right?
 
Got mine this morning from FedEx, here in NM.

not gonna lie, I was a *tad* miffed that it was taking so long... but since they express-shipped me the full retail version, I feel much better. :D I officially love apple again. lol

anyway, leopard rocks. Did an erase and install, and haven't had any probs. My macbook is faster than ever. :D
 
you guys do realize that the up-to-date disc is exactly the same as the full retail, right? the only "limitation" is that you aren't supposed to be able to install unless you have tiger pre-installed, but that is not strict at all.

i installed on a brand new disk, and as that link shows, all you have to do is click "restore from a time machine backup" after booting from the dvd, and then the install option that was previously greyed out becomes available.

i also got the full retail version of leopard in my monthly ADC mailing, and i checked it our for myself... both discs contain all the same functionality.

and obviously whoever programmed that little trick into the up-to-date dvd knew what they were doing, so it's not like you are breaking any rules or hacking anything.
 
Problem with apple sending UTD discs is that the packages were 'Lettermail' and sent as regular postage. Therefore that Tracking id they gave you was useless and they could not track the 2 million packages they mailed during the release weekend. Some were slipped through the crack and were probably stolen by postal workers since on the back of a package there is a white apple sticker with description. Those who were impatient and complained to apple about lost packages and getting new retail version reshipped, chances are you will receive the UTD disc at some point. You'll end up with 2 DVDs!

What are you going to do with the extra???? Be honest...
 
my retail version is coming tomorrow! no word on the UTD but i don't really care about that anymore.

i don't even think i'll install leopard right away.. considering the amount of bugs.. i don't mind waiting til 10.5.1 comes out.
