So be prepared that your UTD dvd was also 'lost' in the mail :p.

I had figured that one out allready, too bad, I gave up being dissapointed:)

I kinda hope the guy who stole it thinks it's an iPod, than opens the package, dissapointed at first, comes home at night and spends several hours to figure out how to install it on his Acer he just bought last year… But you must admit, working at the Postal Service has it's pros and cons :)

Edit: Just read a post on a dutch forum, a guy from Ghent is in the same situation as me, called Apple as well, and they tell him the reorder can only be send by regular mail, so another two weeks of waiting, this is getting absurd… I'm waiting for this guy to jump out of a closset screaming:"SMILE! You're on candid iSight!"

The mail's been delivered here in Atlantic Canada today and still no sign of UTD (ordered on the 18th)!

Do you not ALL see the grand plan in this? For all the people that ordered the UTD apple is basically making no money at all. In fact it is really a money losing situation for them.

Basically by making this inconvienient and a lengthy process, they are playing on the fact that at least a percentage of the people that did not want to wait would go and purchase a retail copy. Apple is playing on the fact that the majority of thier fan base is fanatical and irrational to a fault when it comes to apple products.

I have read SO many posts here from people that couldnt take the wait and went to but a retail copy. Hell, others even went to but NEW Macs !!!

How many people do you know of that would go do that for an upgrade copy of Vista?? Exactley!

When it became very apparent that after my calls confirming these UTD disc would be there on the 26th like retial orders, were in fact a lie, I downloaded a torrent off Demoniod....

Plain and simple, I love Apples products and innovation. I do not like they way they conduct business in general. The vision I have in my head is the Capital one commercials where the bankers pick on the little miniature guy trying to get a loan.....anyway you slice it, UTD folks were treated like a red headed step child at a family reunion, and that sucks..

When my UTd finally arrives, Im tempted to urinate on it, place it back in the box and return it...Oh wait I dont even get a box..oops

MY UTD disc arrived within about a week of ordering it. Did it ship later than they promised? Yeah.. did I care? No. Why? Cuz eventually I'd get Leopard and all the stress of buying or pirating a copy (GO YOU!) aren't worth it.

My hopes are up again!

Ordered on 27 October,
Recieved confirmation on 30 October that the expected shipping date would be 30 or 31 October and delivery on 1 or 2 November,
Received warning on 31 October that shipping was delayed untill 14 November,
Received notice of dispatch today and when I checked on-line just now it showed that the package HAS indeed been dispatched!

So..... tomorrow? Day after?

BTW, I'm in The Netherlands.

You still don't get it! Don't be so naive. Anyways, it's Nov. 5 and no UTD Leopard in my hands. It's no frickin' coincidence!

Still waiting on the answers to B & C :)

Edit: In case you forgot:

B) Even though some of us are having more trouble than we should most people have already received their UTD disks. Care to explain?
It's not really surprising that when shipping 2 million disks (normal & UTD combined, I assume they're manufactured in the same place) over one weekend something would go wrong. It's annoying as hell but it's a part of life, get over it.

C) Can your source tell us something...exciting? Because if this is all s/he can tell you s/he acts like a fortuneteller really. "There will be a shipping delay for some people"=broad & common. "New MacPro's with the following specs X will retail at price Y and I was told to expect them in stores on Z" = specific & exciting!

Edit #2: By the way I'm not an Apple apologist. They screwed up, big time. I, however, still refuse to believe that your "friend" knew anything. Once you answer B&C I'll probably believe you (once enough time passes by to see that C was true or not :) ).

Called the Singapore area again today, atleast they're located in Singapore. Anyway they gave me the number to the person in charge of the orders for mail of Leopard Up To Date and she said she has a copy of my order on her computer and that the people in Singapore have called her a few times asking for it (I called them like a hundred times asking wy they didnt have it) and she said I'll try and get some more info. I'm hoping she'll call me back (she never asked for my number but she should have it). If she doesn't call me back tommorow I'll call her. Least I got some steps forward.

Got mine this morning! After calling Apple yesterday, they reordered a copy, and delivered this morning, it probably is my original order, but it feels a bit like the super fast delivery they promise on their website:D (btw I'm in Belgium)

UTD via Canada Post anyone?

Called Apple yesterday said that in Canada I need to wait until this friday to receive my UTD which was shipped on the 25th.
Still have not received as of today, the 6th of November.

Anyone received the UTD via Canada Post, are we going to all receive them the same day with Canada Post?

Nope, I'm in Canada and haven't gotten my UTD yet either. Are you sure it's coming on Friday? Is hat what the rep said?

Ordered on the 18th ... Shipped on the 25th .... Still not delivered on the 6th. Maybe the $9.95 was to pay storage to Canada Post? Had any one in Southern Ontario got their UTD disc via Canada Post?

Nothing here.
Toronto. 2pm Tuesday.

Nothing yet here either. Apparently being delivered by Purolator...I check the purolator pile at my office every morning...nathan.

Toronto, 2:40 pM, Tues Nov 6.

ERIC LEWIS: Jeezus dude, lay off that 4th cup of coffee...in fact, Eric Lewis is dead to me. You are, from this point forward, known to me only as NICK BURNS.

YOOOOUUUUU'RRRREEE WEELLLLLLCOMMMMMMMMEEEEEE

Just got off the horn with Apple...the th 4th time in 2 weeks...they FINALLY told me their notes say "8 to 12 biz. days for delivery". It shipped on the 26th, so the latest is SHOULD arrive is Oct 12. they have refused TWICE now to send me a replacement disk, insisting it's not lost, which I find a spurious claim considering they can't track it.

But with all huge launches come huge delays...I can be patient...it's not like my 'puter isn't working like champ as it is. iMac, you give me iWood.

here's what bothers me. first their website says 4-7 days. then they say 7-10 days. now 8-12? sounds like they just keep increasing the numbers. this doesn't make sense to me.

Agreed. It's becoming ridiculous. However, as I said...deep breath, new product, free upgrade...Yo-Yo Ma...

Based on a shipping date of 25th of Octiber, the apple rep said you need to count 10 business days which gives you the 9th of November as expected delivery.
But to tell you the truth this is quite strange, because from what I understood the disks are being shipped out of Canada (at least I presumed), and it doesn't take 10 days to deliver within Canada, does it?

If the disks are coming from the US then probably this is the time it takes...

Oops, I said OCT 12 earlier..meant Nov.

Actually the Apple rep I spoke to LAST week mentioned something about t he discs clearing customs. Guess they're shipping from the states and then being dispersed from a Can Post station here...prolly in Sault Ste. Marie or Montreal. (I love that...world's longest border...2 post offices.)

Got my Leopard UTD today, I ordered it on Oct. 19.

Comes in a approx. 25cm x 20cm bubble wrap package.

Includes the UTD CD and an instruction manual.

Btw, I'm in Vancouver, BC.
