Just got mine on Newegg also-$130 w/free 3-day shipping. They are on Pacific time, so you've got a few hours. They already processed my sale.

Reading the fine print on the "Super Suite Deal", it says Office 2008 boxed product. Lower down on the page it says 2008 upgrade. Not sure what we'll get, but I was thinking of not opening the 2004 version and selling it for cheap.

By the way, Staples was sold out, but their Suite Deal form was different, as it specified similar product for product upgrade. And it was $10. rather than $6.99. Strange.

You have to open it because you need the front cover of the booklet for one rebate and the top of the box for the other, although with a copy of the reciept.

That's true. Sorry, I meant to say not install or register the 2004 version, although I'm not sure if MS would be cross referencing the serial numbers.

Both forms require:

A copy of the dated sales receipt clearly showing the date and store name where you acquired your product.

In the case of Amazon purchases I wonder which "sales receipt" will suffice.
a) The email confimation, or
b) A printed copy of the order summary under "your account", or
c) The shipping receipt that is included in the box.

ALL THREE include the required information, but I've been burned before by obscure rebate requirements. I once had a rebate from CompUSA denied because I provided more information than was necessary. Go figure.

i too would like to know which one to send. I'll probably end up going with the shipping receipt, since that is the final one.

My copy of Office will not ship for 3-5 weeks so I plan to print out my invoice, cross out where it says "The following item will arrive after December 25, 2007," and include the front page of the manual of Office that I already own. That should suffice.

Did you purchase it through Amazon? I noticed the 3-5 week shipping time also, but my order receipt from Amazon says that the expected shipping time is November 29th! Plus, they said this on their web site promo blurb:

And if you buy it TODAY ONLY! you're eligible to receive $100 off via mail-in rebate. Just combine the Super Suite Deal with the Best Friday Deal, and you're set! Don't worry--more units are on the way! Buy today and you'll still get this great deal, and we'll ship it as soon as possible. (emphasis mine)

I saved a screen shot of their web page, so if I don't get Office by the required time for the rebate, I'll hold Amazon responsible for false advertising.

Good luck with that. I'm sure their page has a clause that they are not responsible for typos and so on and so forth including sale items going out of stock.

Yeah, I purchased it around 11:00 p.m. EST from Amazon. Currently my shipping estimate is December 24 - January 2. I wouldn't be surprised if this is shipped out sooner, but I don't expect to see any change to this shipping date until sometime next week.

I did the exact same thing......I'm counting on this actually shipping sooner than what is stated on the website. If not, I will just cancel the order and not have Office! I actually like iWork a lot, and can/will live with it.

I second the thanks to benlee and the others who posted about this special offer. I would never have known about this without your posts. This was truly a bright spot in my Thanksgiving.

Update in my Amazon account today. Revised shipping estimate is now Nov. 28th....so the 3-5 weeks shipping estimate last night when I ordered was inaccurate. I guess the risk paid off.....I was hoping it would.

Just got my shipping confirmation from Amazon.

Yes, that would be very bad considering the rebate must be postmarked by December 23.

I ordered mine about noon yesterday (with free shipping option) and it displays November 28 as the ship date.

I ordered mine early enough to get a shipping estimate for next week. Maybe Microsoft will end up changing or being flexible on the Dec. 23 deadline with a number of people that might get late shipping
