So the Sox are playing home run derby down in Atlanta tonight. JD Drew, Coco, Papi, and Manny all hit home runs so far.

8-0 Sox 7th inning just finished.

Looking good..Good to see some long ball tonight.Lugo still sucks,lol...Off day tomorrow. Schilling expected to go on the DL Friday. Beckett's already slated to take his start Sunday against Peavey in SD.. That should be a great game..

Most of it has to do with the money also..The Sox forked over a lot of $$$ for Drew compared to what they could have signed Trot for. Trot also spent a good amount of time on the DL the last couple seasons. So he had the injury issues as well..It's tough to replace a fan favorite, especially one that came up through the system..It's even tougher when you don't produce consistantly right off the bat..The fact that that Drew isn't exactly enamored with the media isn't helping him either. His post game interviews look more like interrogations. He's REALLLLL laid back..We're not used to that here,lol..Of course,if he goes .330 with 35 HR's and 100 RBI's for the season,we'll be "Trot who??":D

Well Drew's biggest year was in '01 with STL. Then, his numbers were 27 HRs, and batted around .323. He's only got 100 RBIs once, and that was with LA in '06. Still, he's capable of coming in with a solid first year in Boston if he finds his game.

He is laid back. "He doesn't put all his furniture on the front porch." :D But that "aw shucks" demeanor doesn't fly far when you're not delivering. Give'm a chance.

I thought they sat Drew, tonight?

Well I hope he turns it on and has a solid year. Fenway's a good park for him. With his ability,he should find his groove..We're not used to
"Aw shucks" up here in Boston..More like,"Whaddya mean you don't like my game?" lol

Once again,lol,
Andruw Jones was benched for the Braves tonight

JD Drew started for the Red Sox.Hit a HR,then left the game with sore quad..

Hinske decided to join the HR derby contest too. So 5 HRs tonight for the Sox.

Drew, Crisp, Papi, Manny, Hinske.

So if Schill is going on the DL, any word on who's going to pitch for him. I'm 99% sure it's going to be Lester, but I'm just curious if they have announced anything.

I love the depth we have though. Even if one starter goes down, we have plenty of guys to fill in.

No announcements yet other than Beckett will take Schilling's start on Sunday and so it's Tuesday's game in Seattle that is needing a starter. Coincidentally, Lester is from the Seattle area.

The usual suspects are being mentioned..Lester,Gabbard,Hansack...Whoever it is,will have to be in SD on Friday.Listening to Schilling on EEI this morning, sounds like he's not been on his game all year. That was by his own admission.

Tavarez has been a pleasant surprise recently. However, the ESPN announcers tonight were insinuating that he was doctoring the ball because at the end of every inning he would ask for the ball back and take it with him to the dugout, rather than leave in on the mound for the opposing pitcher.

steroid sosa with 600 homers now.

Interesting it came when he's on the team that drafted him and against the team that he gained his fame.

Lester pitched five innings last night.Threw 98 pitches,3 ER 4BB 3 SO .Not exactly an economical outing. Gabbard's already proved himself at the major league level a few weeks ago.I know everybody's dieing to see Lester come up.The worst thing you can do to him now,is bring him up too early and have him get shelled.Looking good in Pawtucket and looking good in Boston are two different things. Whoever pitches Tuesday, may be going up against Felix the King in Seattle.Runs are going to be tough to come by...

The Rockies definitely should not have done a sweep on the Yankees. Rocket couldn't hold on. Disappointment. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road.

i'm sorry we failed you and THEY got more games on you guys. i hate THEM.

at least THEY didn't gain more games in the standings...stupid muts.

**Cough**Schilling**Cough**

Everyone has a larger that life player that doesn't live up to current expectations.
Except maybe the royals.

You're preaching to the choir guy.No arguement on Schilling whatsoever..Never wanted the Sox to pony up the $13mill for Curt's extension......Oh that's right..You're officially rooting for the Yankee's now...

Take some Vick's for that cough...Or some Tussin...

Get used to it. His ego is larger than life. And it's only June..........

His ego could be stabbing every Yankee fan in the heart for all I care. It is the money we spent on him. Plus he is just not performing how he should be. Its the Rockies. I mean they are an up and coming team and they could be very good in a few years, but right not, Clemens should beat them.
