Just recieved my Nike+ Sportband ! it looks great

Comes with a Nike+ shoes thingy to replace my smelly battered one :D

this looks like one bad ass bit of kit - the software was straight forward but not sure i like the flash bit as on windows i'm unable to move the app round the screen.

will give it a full test later

EDIT: sod's law - i put an order in a foot-traffic as well as Nike+ .com and i forgot to cancel it oopps looks like i got 2 :)

i got mine as well. i haven't gone for a run with it yet, but i have walked around and stuff. it seems to not read the same distance as the nano

you need to config the thing - in the nike app there is a setting in there - you have to run 250 + meters which i'll be doing too

i might splash out and buy a new pair of nikes to help me on

yeah, i haven't had a chance to do that. maybe tomorrow or something. but out of the box, the thing seems way off

just done my first run in a long while - :) my doc told me to take it easy at first so i'd thought abit about treadmill work

nice gentle pace - 5 min walk 8 min run ect.. ending up in a nice easy 4 mile ish

i'm very proud of myself as my leg did not give out and i made the 4 mile marker ( thought i'd only get 2 ) and the saving grace was the sauna after that was full of pretty ladies

anyway ONWARDS :D

Oh BTW the Nike+ Sportband was right on the nail with distance as it was almost the same as my running machine at the gym

nice work.

btw, did you calibrate the sportsband?

which means maybe it's right! ;)

I am trying to get back in to running, but my knees are STILL sore. gosh-freakin-darnit. ;)

it's possible. but i know it's way off when it comes to walking. not sure about running yet.

sorry to hear that. hang in there, you'll make it back to running

Are you going to experiment with the 'double dip' hypothisis? Just curious if the SW is smart enough to figure it out.

i wasn't planning on it. i could try it later. don't have time at the moment. (finishing up the semester)

the sportband FAQ says it's not possible to double dip.

maybe i'll try it and find out.

I take it the software is smart enough to know if you were using your ipod with one sensor and your wristband with another sensor?

Personally, I really don't understand the people trying to cheat up their mileage - seems a bit odd to me.

It was a question posed awhile back.
General interest, I don't think anyone wants to double their mileage using 2 systems at once.
You'd have to be at rock bottom wanting to cheat yourself.

Agreed - from the mind of a true runner, but as with everything there are exceptions to every rule...:)

so, not that i run that that much but i have fun with the challenges, now the nano one is done...whats next?

Starting one a few minutes after the other may be able to confuse nike site?

yeah, i think that would beat the system.

believe me, there are tons of people on there already that are cheating. just look at the times on the leaderboard. the 10k times are faster than the world record!

honestly, there are easier ways to cheat, if you really want to. It would be pretty pathetic though.

yeah i know. makes me sick how many people are cheating

ahhaha, I hadn't seen that. How awful! Well, I certainly hope there's none of that going on here - and I'm sure there isn't!
