Sign me up. Ran a half marathon three years ago, then haven't done much since. Need to get back in shape, plus I have a bet with a coworker on losing weight.

Please add me, my ID is "Kellen 21", with a space. Will my old runs count? Been running for 3 weeks now.

Thanks!

You are in...Welcome!

I am still on the fence with the arm/wristband...then it almost predicates another purchase of a shuffle to have music - it may solve the sweat issue. Does this run on a replaceable battery or is it a charge thing like the Nano?

yep i was thinking the same - shuffle for music - lighter less bulky and cheaper to replace once water damage settles in:rolleyes:

once i get my sport band i'll do a mini review like i did with the nike+amp system

hey what sweat issue a re you guys talking about,, getting it in the nano?

i've read on the Nike+ Forums of people complaining the moisture was getting in the iPods and messing them up.

the iPod Armband that holds the ipod is one of the culprits as it soaks up moisture and then get's in the pod

i'm pretty sure it's a charge thing like the nano. but the price including a sensor is that of a decent watch, so it's not too bad. i'm hoping to get mine in the next week or so.

looking forward to it.

yeah, like liketom said, it's mainly people that wear the nano in the armband. the band soaks up sweat pretty bad, and can get in the nano.

i have a hard plastic case for mine, and hold it in my hand when i run. my old 1st gen nano had the same thing, and it still halfway works. i had it since the day the nano was first available in the apple store, so i think i got my money's worth out of it

guys, i've had a minor surgery done yesterday. nothing serious or anything, but i'd rather not talk too much about it. in any case, my miles might be down a little for the next week or so

off this week so i have a little more time to run, ran 4.3 miles today two more than i usually run

hope you're Ok. Don't rush back too quickly.

I ran Boston on Monday. Managed to finish, despite my knees starting to hurt after ~6 miles. However, I'm still limping around 2 days later, and don't know when I'll be able to run again. I'd like to be more help with these challenges than I have been the last month and a half, but it's just not going to happen right now; I have to get healthy.

thanks, i'll try not to.

congrats man. sorry that you're still feeling the aftereffects, but you'll get over it (hopefully soon).

don't worry, we'll get these challenges before the year is up. still got tons of time

How did you do? Sub 3 hr.?

How did you do? Sub 3 hr.?

sadly, no. The loss in fitness over the last month due to my knee injury, combined with the knee pain during the race itself, did me in. I actually ended up stopped at a red cross station for several minutes trying to get some help for my knee so I could keep going.

I know I'm capable of going well under 3 hours, but the marathon is not a race you can fake your way though if you're not fit for it and/or are injured!

i can only imagine. you'll get there

You need to get that fixed! - Is it just "wear and tear" or an injury that you can recover from?

it's Patellar Femoral Syndrome (aka Patellofemoral syndrome, aka chrondomalacia patella), and there is no "cure," only treatment (exercises, stretches, icing, etc.) that causes the problem to recede to unproblematic levels. Basically, it's a problem caused by the mistracking of the kneecap.

I've had it for years, and it was mostly under control until I fell on the ice a few months ago. The resulting bruising made the whole area sore and inflamed again, and the problems have gotten worse from there.
