Back in London and ready to go out tomorrow for a run. I've missed it but taking the dog for a 4 mile walk and then with the fog/snow/ice in Scotland, I only managed out a couple of times up there. :(

I've switched to my new shoes though so fingers crossed that they're as comfortable 2 miles in as they were jogging around the store :D

Nike+ username is ICTRUNNER. I'm doing some marathon training (if my body stays together) and I can help out with a few miles.....

Nope, Nike+ only works with the nano.... I plugged the sensor into my touch and it said something like not available for this iPod..... You could pick-up a refurb-nano cheap from the Apple Store.

Thanks :)

I'll think about it, because i don't have that much money to burn...

You should have your invites.

Contrary to popular belief I am not always here...;) I do my best to get everyone onboard. Many new sign ups so far this year...We will see where that will get us at the end of the month...25,000 is a looooong way.

yeah it is a long way, but with the new recruits.....i think we'll make it

I think I'm going to drop out of the 5k/10k challenges. It's pointless. I did a 20 minute tempo run the other day that had to be under 6 min/mile pace and it got recorded as a 20:29 5k (6:36 pace). I was on a treadmill another day, and when I was running at 7:30 pace the nike+ said 7:00. When I went down to 6:48 pace... it still said 7:00.

So basically, the nike+ is useless as far as measuring pace, at least for me. It does Ok with distance on most runs because, on average, I run pretty near the pace I calibrated it at. But at a dramatically faster pace (e.g. a tempo run) it's so far off as to be basically worthless. Sigh.

you have to calibrate it at your faster pace. i know it's stupid to calibrate it all the time, but that's the only way to make it even close to accurate.

i guess it could be a nice warmup?

true, sadly. I think it's just not worth the bother though. The distance challenges are good enough. It's not like I don't do fast runs without speed challenges.

yeah i know. it's really not worth it. now if you could have multiply calibrations, and just choose the one you want to use, then that would be great. but you can only have one at a time right now

I contributed 0.01% today :p Every little helps....

That would be great. I'd like one for indoors and one for outdoors since Nike+ tells me entirely different things when I'm on the treadmill as opposed to in the park

yeah i know. the treadmill is just weird though. i think you really do run differently on a treadmill, compared to outside

Alright, I just joined three of the challenges: the birth month (Go June!), the 25,000 miler, and the 500 miler. My actual goal for 2007 is just 400 miles, but hopefully they will help.

I have noticed that as well - I also have noticed that all treadmills are not created equal - when on vacation at a hotel or resort and using I can get different readings. In the end I think it averages out since it is not that drastic for me in either direction.

I also added natallica

I've tried to sign up for the 500 miler but it doesn't show at Nike+. Am I doing something wrong?:(
