or if you're consistently not running!

now go for a run, even if it's a short one ;)

Done. 2.33 miles run for June. :)

Hey, it is missing some of my miles this year! I'm not getting credit for 2.3 miles, if I figure up all of my runs individually. And it's not like it is just skipping a single run or something...because I don't have a single run for 2.3 miles. What gives???

yeah i've noticed that it has been acting up lately. i don't know what's going on

Hello, my Nike name is JamesHo. Can you please invite me to the following?

25,000 miles in 2008
500 mile club
and is there a birth month challenge? November please, if there is one.

Thanks!

It has been ok for me, but I just logged in to check my stats and challenge standings. I didn't run today.

unfortunately, my nano seems lost. i haven't logged a single mile this year with nike+ because of that. i'm looking for the cheapest nano i can find. hopefully i can get a gen1 1 or 2gb for $50 bucks somewhere. sorry i can't help with the group goal right now. i'll try and make up for my losses once i get a new nano.

2 questions:

Is there a way to tell who is running for each birth month? EDIT: Nevermind. Found it.

Is there a quicker way to end my workout than clicking Menu, scrolling down to End Workout, and clicking?

not that know of. if you have the amp watch, i think you can end the workout with that

Ok, so I bought the Nike+ kit the other day to try to spur me on to start running. normally hit the gym, but have never really done much running...so here goes I guess.

I need some general tips really, cos I wana make this new years resolution work lol! what shoes and clothing u guys recommend, beginners advice etc?

Im going to run at night, in the nice cold british winter lol.

My Nike+ name is adom, add me to whatever you think might be best for a complete novice.

layers are good but you don't want them too heavy since as you run you will warm up. You almost want them slightly too light for when you first step outside. And you'll want something flourescent or reflective to keep you visible to traffic etc. Running at night, depending on the area, I'd consider doing with no headphones but tracking or with the music v low. Would will want a hat and a pair of gloves. The drifit type ones do work v well.

There are a few online guides on how to start running and getting to 5k in 4 to 6 weeks. They'll tell you how to combine running and walking to increase your cardio capability gradually.

Good luck

Shoe-wise, I suggest you head up to a local running store, if you have one relatively close. (I'm not talking about a Foot Locker or Finish Line type store, but a store dedicated to running.) The people who work there are generally VERY knowledgeable about the product they sell, and what will work best for the type of runner you are.

They will probably have you run around/outside the store, take a look at the sole of your existing shoes (running or not), and ask you what you're looking to do. From there, they will suggest a shoe for you.

You don't necessarily have to buy from them, as you can often find the same shoe cheaper elsewhere...but I think you'll be compelled to buy from them anyway. These small shops generally take care of their customers very well.

Well Ive got a light coloured zip up hoodie, and was going to wear a thin vest under that, along with some black nike pants ive got. As far as getting ipod mugged is concerned, my area is nice - so that shouldn't be a problem *touch wood*.

I guess I'll see how it goes. Cardio has never been a part of my workout, it was weights or nothing, which when I look back, is stupid. Anyway, I've mapped a possible route on nikeplus.com and its apparently 2 miles (which is an allround trip back to my house)

Will see if I can get into this 'jogging' myth, cheers for the advice!

i'm sure you'll be fine. just run/jog how you feel. you can read about it online and all, but it's mainly just a matter of getting out there and doing it

Hi all. Count me in for some miles!

Nike+ ID: mokey
I'd like to join the 25,000 challenge and the 500 mile group.

Historically, I've never been that into running or exercising in general, but I ran semi-regularly for a little while in preparation for the local turkey trot 5K last Thanksgiving, which my wife and I did together to do something active and get outside our comfort zones. I haven't run much since then, but I actually find myself missing it.

I only recently found out about Nike+ and the MacRumors challenges. I think it sounds fun, and what better way to justify this new Nano, right? :D I just got my kit, and should get my case and shoe wallet for the sensor in the next day or two.

Running didn't really agree with her. Her asthma would sometimes get the best of her (as it did during the 5K), and she had shin splints. Plus I don't think she enjoyed running all that much in general. She's probably better suited for a bike (she has one) and other lower-impact workouts.

Bummer.
The bike sounds like a good choice.
Maybe you could chase the bike?:D

Sweet, just like in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.

All I need is a pink sweatsuit and to convince my wife to undergo some major surgery...
