Been a member for some time. I have 2 MacBook Pros, a MacBook Air, an iPad Mini, 2 iPhones, AirPods and an Ultra watch plus Apple TV box. So firmly in the Apple camp. I use Social Media a lot less than I used to but I find the roundups and insight into what is coming very helpful. Yep up th good work. I do hope the neo will rid the world of Windows...

newbie

I'm a newbie but have been observing for the past week or two...wanting to get a glimpse of what might be coming out at mac world. I"m going into my first year in college and was looking at macs b/c of my friend who has been a die-hard mac-user since he was born.

Anyway, the flat-panel imac always appealed to me and i just oredered the new 17" one the day it came out. And now that i'm about to be a mac-user i thought i owed it to myself to register here.

Been on Windows since version 3.1. My first machine was a glorious 486‑12 MHz back in ’92 with AOL dial‑up singing its song. I’ve built every PC I’ve owned since, usually every 5–7 years.

I’m 63 now and still gaming — BF6 a few nights a week — and during the weekdays I’m flying MSFS or DCS in VR on my gaming PC. I keep a mixed setup: a Win11 laptop, a Linux Mint laptop, and a 2019 MacBook Pro with an i7 and 16GB RAM.

With all the Windows 11 changes and price hikes, I finally decided to switch my daily driver to a Mac mini. Naturally, the moment I committed, Apple ran out of the base model. So now I’m sitting here waiting for the M5 like it’s a game release.

Thanks for letting me join the community.

This will be a bit of a test... Another of these threads started with good intentions... but was soon taken over by regulars.

if you just joined MacRumors, reply and introduce yourself.

This is only for new Macrumors users... only users who registered within two months of the current date may reply...

All other users posts will be deleted. (moderators, please enforce this). This will be for myself included... only comments by truely "new" users will be allowed in this thread.

Discuss away...

(this could fail miserably if no one replies 🙂 )

I joined tonight because I wanted to thank a poster for some advice that allowed me to open my Pages docs after they kept quitting within seconds of being opened. It was such a simple fix, after doing my own research and then troubleshooting with a guy from Apple Care for an hour.

We have several Macs in our family, but certain issues like "$3500 Wilcom embroidery software that only runs on Windows" keeps me with a foot in both camps.

My Macs always seem to make me smile, while the Windows units seem to make me frequently - but not always - curse.

Been in computing as a business user and hobbyist since DOS 3.0 on a Tandy 1000 -- using a 8088 blazingly slow chip, with 640k of bone-crushing RAM. Those were the days.

Also play guitar and bass in church, so the recent Apple Creator Studio package for $13/month certainly caught my eye as I also do video production (testimony videos, etc.) for the church too.

Thank you all for the applause -- Note: I have taken a vow of poverty, please offend me by sending me money.

Howdy all. Just joined a few minutes ago. I've used Macs since my first one in college around 2003. But what's gotten me into the forum is my recent journey to revive and refurbish my family's mac laptops from the early 2010s! It's been a fun way to learn about hardware specs, software optimization, and even finally learn Linux! (I put MX Linux on one of the older, slower laptops as an experiment.) Excited to be here!

Hello all, I'm new here. I'm a keen roadtripper in Australia and have experimented with and purchased various mounts for my macbook, iphone and even GoPro camera for my 4WD. I'm a huge Apple fan, but have come to these forums to look at suggestions for product accessories, especially when roadtripping. Hello all!

Hello all. I’ve been an Apple user for a few years now and occasionally go to MacRumors to see what posts about the iOS 26 cycle there are, and now the same for iOS 27/WWDC26. I’m from New York (the state, not the city). It’s nice to meet you all.

Hey all! I'm Seb. I've been an Apple user since 2010. The iPhone 4 was my first Apple product. Since then, I've been sold and haven't touched anything else. 😄 It's refreshing to find a community like this. I've missed long, forum-style discussions after getting tired of short, inflammatory, and mostly rude social-media–type comments.

I'm a programmer currently living in Romania and a proud father of a 3-year-old boy. I really enjoy Apple products and the technologies they bring to market. Currently I own an M2 MacBook Pro, an iPhone 13 Pro, an Apple Watch Ultra 2, and two iPads: an iPad Air 4 and an iPad mini 7. I am one of the weird ones who loves his Magic Mouse 2 😛, but I find that nowadays I mostly use my external trackpad instead of my mouse.

But I'm not an early adopter at all. I like my offline (dumb) home and to keep certain aspects of my life completely off grid. I am usually very slow to install and tinker with all the latest and greatest. For example, given the latest WWDC, I'm the "old" guy who likes his systems stable, so you'll usually find me installing new operating systems on my devices only around version .4 or .5.

That being said, nice to meet you all and glad to join this community! 😎
