any list of great apps for jailbroken iphone such as any wifi apps that allow wifi over 3g or any other great must have apps?
what about facetime over 3g with a 3gs? is that possible?
best multitasking app,
thanks, and yeah about 90 seconds and it was done!!
awesome!
That's a good question.
There is supposed to be a program you
can install that allows iTunes to backup
jailbroken apps and then restore them
if you need to rejailbreak down the road.
Anyone have more information on this?
Thanks
Did you restore as new after the 4.01 upgrade
I believe you're talking about pkgbackup. It backs up all of your jb apps, cydia repos, etc. as a contact.
iPhone 4 on 4.0
Jailbroke yesterday no problem.
Had to update to 4.0.1 today because of exchange sync issue.
Go to re-jailbreak and it goes all the way through download the software and then closes out Safari. No jailbreak has occured.
Re-imaged with 4.0.1 again and same results.
Summary:
iPhone 4.0.1 - jailbreak software downloads - closes out safari w/out jb
Jailbroke 2 of my iPhones in the last 2 days and kind of pissed that a lot of the good jb apps I have to buy
So, you feel that people should put their time and effort into developing incredibly feature rich apps that do some pretty amazing, including many that can't be done with a stock iPhone, create updates to add features, compatibility, provide support, and maintain it over time as new iOS versions are released...all for FREE to you because you happened to figure out how to type in a url and "slide to jailbreak"? You shouldn't feel a sense of entitlement just because you aren't in Steve's walled garden anymore.
I can't even begin to comprehend that logic.
Thanks.
Where does that contact reside in case I need to restore?
Really I was hoping there was something that you could
install that would fool iTunes into thinking it was a legitimate
app and it would store it in your normal backup.
It's just stored among your regular contacts so make sure that you sync your contacts with iTunes or via MobileMe, etc. The contact is called pkg backup with a bunch of numbers after it. The app is actually really easy to use.
I really don't understand WHY somebody would want to JB their iPhone or iPad? I mean, literally, what exactly do you get from doing so?
