... alternative rock band OK Go ...
they were.
not pinnacles of an art form but real music nonetheless (and more real than most of the crap popular today)
It diversified, mixed and melded into each other, opinions, new generations and all that. Power pop has been around for at least a couple generations; just wait until you run into the more recent "damn kids these days" styles like screamo and dubstep.![]()
I noticed the similarity too. OK Go has clever videos. But - I never would have noticed or even heard of them at all unless Apple had used their music to promote an iPod and probably paid them some money for that. And helped them sell a lot of their music because of it.
I actually think they do have a valid case, especially since they approached apple with this idea prior and apple rejected it, only to use it themselves later.
Look at you OK Go, so ****ing creative. You didn't invent ****.

Anyone care?
its quite confusing. sometimes its about being first then sometimes its about being the influencer and the ones the other copy
only uneducated ignorant tasteless idiots think popularity is correlative to quality art. From what ive gleaned only NERDS seem to make the types of comments as the quote above on tech-oriented boards.
for more than a decade people were makin some of the best "alternative" music that remained obscure yet immensely relevant, up until artists like nirvana and NWA finally popularized the very idea of "alternative".
Steve Jobs would be disgusted at some of the attitude on here as he WASNT a nerd, thought their disregard for the humanities uncouth, and was a total hippie abstract creative type.
Didnt apple already do this before or am i thinkin of another tech company? wasnt some music video obviously copied by someone/some company in an ad? I vaguely remember death cab for cutie?
In any case its not about OK Go having an idea. Its about 1stAveMachine having a style and using that style more than once.
