that dude needs to put a sock in it. if i were comex, id be pretty annoyed lol
If I were anyone on the dev team I wouldn't check Twitter, etc until the JB was released. What do they expect people to say? I'm not trying to condone the behavior I just think it's pretty obvious what they're mostly going to read.

Yea, I am amazed they have twitter anyway. Seems like it would be much better with emails among the dev team and have a website with any status updates they want to announce...with no feedback/comment section to be found lol

that's a damn good idea!! it would take a crap load of stress off of the team and still allow a center point to refer to for any updates. Perhaps after this id-10-t's rant, they will pursue something like that.

I hightly doubt it.

They have a twitter.
They're making another spirit jailbreak.

People can reminisce about the 1.x.x days all they want, aint a damn thing changing at this point.

+1 there. All they will get is trolls as it is now. I think it would also be good for their morale so they don't have to read that prattle, and I'm sure a lot of it doesn't encourage them to keep going forward. They need to make twitter uncomment-able (or just disable it for all but friends), and for more than brief announcements, have a status page.

I appreciate what these people are doing. The Dev Team is well within their rights to just refuse to release. They can even sell the jailbreaks if they so chose. I'm sure there are plenty of firms which would be more than happy to sell jailbreaks locked to the IMEI number of a phone for $100-$150 per phone, similar to how some phone unlock services work.

I jailbroke my iPod Touch and loved some of the things that it allowed me to do. With that said, I just don't understand these people that are constantly begging for the jailbreak. The phones are outstanding as they are, so waiting a few weeks to tweak it isn't all that bad.

Way too expensive for just a jb, A jb + an unlock, maybe, but not just the jb. People would not pay that much money simply for the ability to run the 'convenience' applications available at RYP and the Cydia store. Who would pay $100 - $150 just to be able to run Winterboard or SBSettings? The only people who might pay that much are those who are actually saving money because of jb, e.g., paying $20 for MyWi instead of paying ATT to tether. Even then, you'd have to use MyWi a lot.

I agree the Dev-Team should be making money from their work. There are plenty of other people who are, i.e., people like Saurik, Rock Your Phone, and other developers who sell products wouldn't exist without being able to jb the iPhone.

Most people eager for the jailbreak to unlock their iPhones (we don't all live in countries supported by Apple)

The Dev team does what is best for the Community as a whole. When they have completed the development and testing of the tools, they will more than likely time the release to maximize its benefit. That might well mean waiting on apple to release version 4.1 of the FW. You may not appreciate the wait at this time, but it will be in your interest in the long run.

For what it's worth, @comex has already tweeted he is not waiting for 4.1 before he releases his new tool. Don't have any info on MuscleNerd and planetbeing with their unlock.

My common sense tells me we will get both at the same time.

Everything is speculation at this time. But my money is on a release of both tools hours after 4.1 release because of the new baseband in 4.1.

just curious. As I remember, comex didn't work with Dev-Team when he released spiritjb, right? Why he is now in the dev-team blog?
or he is working with dev-team in order to take care of the new blobs?

I miss when jailbreaking was very difficult. There were far fewer whiners and undeserving people way back when.

You can't blame 'em for whining, the hackers just make it easier and easier for the non thinking types to play along.

He demonstrated his programming chops and the team invited him most likely.

The sad part is the only reasons these whiners want it is for cracked apps. That is NOT why they jailbreak the phones. I want it mainly for bite SMS, sbs settings, and 3G unrestrictor. I honestly think now that it is considered legal, they should start charging for the jailbreaks. Why should they put up with all these leeches on twitter for free. I'd gladly pay for it.
