Yeah it’s called an airWell, either I’ll get an older one or go droid (they’re going to have to open their ecosystem with the outcry of governments) No way is anyone paying that much for an iPad. They’re gonna have to sell a strip down version.
Because having money means you're fine with wasting it?True, but if we had the money, we'd be buying it. Yes?
Sensible. Here’s an example of thinking rather than just reacting.Zero credibility for these rumors, prices will go up by $200 at most
Sure, things have a price ceiling (for a while). The tablet market hasn't hit its yet as the transition from laptops and desktops to just living the tablet life has been a little slower. I believe it's peaking now as older and younger generations can use tablets and phones exclusively and live in the cloud for storage + apps. The number of people who won't buy a traditional computer is growing. iPad also has less real competition compared to the iPhone.I remember. I also remember when Apple released a comparable but much improved phone 6 years later for the same price, although overall inflation was about 25% over those 6 years.
While I agree with your comment, that just wouldn‘t work for me. Until the Mac/Macbook has built in cellular data and rear camera, it will never be able to replace the things I use my iPad for. While I’m probably in the minority, the iPad fits my workflow better than anything I’ve ever used. I’ve been able to stay connected while in “the field” via cellular when typhoons/earthquakes knocked out wifi. Being able to go live and direct relief aid from my iPad while showing pictures from the rear camera has been awesome. These are things I was never able to do with my Macbook. Hopefully the prices won’t be as high as this article, but if so, I’ll buy it…. Just less often. The unfortunate angle to this is that the people who’ll benefit most from the OLED screen - ie professionals - would turn to a Mac for most of their work.
I get what you're saying but for your sake (and others in your situation), I hope Apple significantly improves iPadOS to justify these increased prices (assuming if true). And btw, when it comes to comparing iPad to Mac prices, some people argue against it saying that you can get a MBA for the same price. But many of us see it the other way around: I want an iPad, not a Mac, I would pay more for an iPad than an equivalent (storage, screen, etc.) Mac. I want iPadOS in the best iPad hardware, not another Mac.
The OLED in that Samsung tablet (and even their newest tablets) are nothing like the OLED panels going into the new iPad Pro. The latter will use significantly more advanced panels.Samsung tablet got OLED years ago and cost much less than $1000.
At these prices, it's going to be an extremely niche product. It's gonna be expensive because of few technology:
1. OLED itself is expensive. Simple.
2. LPTO cost more than regular models.
3. Two stack tandem is a new technology which is way more expensive than any other OLED. LG already used this for cars but iPad Pro will be the first product to use.
4. 11/13 inch size is another reason why it's gonna be expensive as it's difficult to manufacture a larger screen with dented pixel.
Combining all of those, it will be so expensive for sure.
Me! 😉Who’s picking up a Vision Pro and new iPad Pro (2024). I mean, it’s only around $5,000 for both…
