Guys, I have gotten the iPhone 1.02 apps.
Will those work with the touch?

The wiki mentions 1.1.1 version and some other iphone files needed.

Any hints to getting hold of em?

*I dont have an iPhone.

I'm thinking of trying this process guys, any reasons anyone has come up with not to? Don't really have much knowledge in command line, and I only moved to the mac platform about a month and a half ago. Do you think i've got a fair chance of getting it to work, or should I just wait?

judging that you have already started...you could have some trouble, one user has reported their "hard drive" shrinking to 300mb's after not working, even after restoring - but there is nothing that requires more then a little creativity and typing...

All done now :) I've got the installer and Sketches icons on my screen, anyone know where to get Mail/Maps .etc from?

Nope everything is working better than expected lol, only thing i would like to know is how to rearrange the order of apps on springboard?

Excuse my ignorance guys, but where do you get the apps (mail, maps, stocks, weather .etc) from? I can't find them listed in the installer, do I have to download from somewhere? Please PM me if this is not appropriate for the thread.

Thanks heaps, looking forward to some apps other than Installer and Sketches :) *BTW, sketches enters, and then exits straight away, is this meant to happen?

EDIT: Downloading now... :)

here's one thing, my macbook pro and ipod touch both show the same ip at
whatismyip.com, is that normal??

Yes, that is normal. They will have different local ip addresses, but their external IP address will be the same as they are both connecting through a shared internet connection - i.e. a single router

questions

base on the wiki article http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Jailbreak_Guide

- how can Mail and Calendar be both installed in the same iPT if

Calendar

* Requires 1.0.2. Firmware Version from the iPhone

Mail

* Requires Version 1.1.1 and /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/MobileMailSettings.bundle from the iPhone

- where can i get these needed files? /System/Library/Frameworks/GMM.Framework and/System/Library/PreferenceBundles/MobileMailSettings.bundle

I think that means it requires the MobileCal.app from firmware version 1.0.2 rather than 1.1.1 (remember, 1.0.2 never existed for the iPod touch so you wouldn't be running that firmware).

Hi Guys,
I've followed all the instructions from multiple threads, and now successfully got Calendar, Mail, Notes, Weather and Maps working on my iPod touch. Let me know if you need any details, or if you're having any problems, i'll see what I can do. I got my Calendar, Notes, Weather and Maps applications from here (http://rapidshare.com/files/55771923/iPhoneApps.zip), and I got my mail, and the GMM.framework & MobileMail.bundle from here ({site reference removed}).

P.S. Mods, please delete any parts of this post that are against the rules of this forum, I'm subscribed to so many at the moment that I can't keep track of all the rules :).

Step 16....

I type in my ip and this is what i get brandyn-brosemers-computer:~ brandynbrosemer$ ssh -l 10.110.10.203
usage: ssh [-1246AaCfgkMNnqsTtVvXxY] [-b bind_address] [-c cipher_spec]
[-D [bind_address:]port] [-e escape_char] [-F configfile]
[-i identity_file] [-L [bind_address:]port:host:hostport]
[-l login_name] [-m mac_spec] [-O ctl_cmd] [-o option] [-p port]
[-R [bind_address:]port:host:hostport] [-S ctl_path]
[-w local_tun[:remote_tun]] [user@]hostname [command]

You missed a part out,

it needs to be ssh -l root 10.110.10.203

without the root, it is using "10.110.10.203" as the username and thus doesn't get given an address to connect to so gives you the instructions on how to use the command

ssh -l root 10.110.10.203

i believe your missing the word root

as above

Cyberduck?

Also does the Cyberduck connection settings go under the server for the ip address and is there anything else i need to change under open connection.?Also do i close terminal while running cyberduck?

Did you remember the Preferences bundle? I forgot that at first and it would just crash

/System/Library/PreferenceBundles/MobileMailSettings.bundle

Also, they need to be from the 1.1.1 firmware, not the 1.0.2 as far as I am aware.

I dont have the prefrence bundle any suggestions where to get it other the Bitorrent i dont have access to that at my college

THANK YOU! That is exactly what I was looking for. You are a lifesaver. Kept trying to find the files (for mail/maps) on google but couldn't find anything. Thanks again.

email

Ok email is up and running now just cant get the thing to actually connect to gmail any other similar problems?

Did you enable POP directly from gmail? Log in via the web and in the setting enable it.

I have mail, notes, weather, and maps installed and all work like a charm.. this is great!

I need help. I was installing the SSH, my ipod froze after one of the restarts and now I cannot get past the apple screen. Anyone know how to fix this? Please, anyone lol.
