THANK YOU! That is exactly what I was looking for. You are a lifesaver. Kept trying to find the files (for mail/maps) on google but couldn't find anything. Thanks again.
No problems. Just thought I'd post that, because I got confused no-end whilst trying to find out where everything was, so I figured others probably would too.
Weird thing happened to me last night, I made a calendar event on the iPod touch, then synced it with iCal, then deleted it in iCal and resynced, just to test that everything worked, and now I seem to have lost the ability to add events on the touchThe little + button has disappeared, so maybe it's reverted to the touch version of Calendar somehow. I'll try overwriting it again and see how I go.
All my touch apps freeze at when I launch them...any help?
Cheers mate worked just as you said, now ruuning maps, mail, weather and ical edititable version![]()
Can you launch installer without any problems, or does it crash too?
Installer launched fine. I even installed ApolloIM and that launched fine.
That's weird. Which site did you copy the .app's from? Did you copy them into the same folder as they came from in the firmware? My Notes and Weather apps worked right off the bat, so unless you stuffed something up along the way...
I had to active 2 chmods
chmod -Rf +x /Applications/
chmod -R a+x /Applications/*
DO them in that order and they all work.

I followed the "practically fully automated" method and everything has gone well.
Then used WinScp to place the iPhone apps and system folders in the proper location. When I launch any of the iPhone apps it freezes and goes back to the springboard.
I tried the above commands in Putty and I get "chmod: not found" after the first one and "glob6: not found" after the second.
Thanks for responding Dave!!
/bin/chmod -Rf +x /Applications/

this now has me up and running on all apps, enjoy!!
Mail and all now running, just replaced what i had there already and yipee!!
