A couple of previous builds were shipped with no known issues and now the most recent two have some issues to be focused on. Hmmm, some showstopper must have showed up.
Please reread the original article.

Here's what was written: "As with the previous build, the new seed contains one documented known issue..."

Like I said before Apple is cooking this update and will release it just before the iPad is released. This way it will have a new iTunes in it to interface with the iPad. Everything that Apple is doing right now centers around the iPad.

To me the 10.6.3 betas don't fix the problems with 10.6.2's network issues.

Sorry but I totally disagree. That is a completely limited view of Apples picture.

It has been said that the 10.6.3 focuses amongs other things on OpenGL performance as one of the main issuess. At the same time cider ports are becoming more and more popular and Valve is bringing Steam to OSX.
Nothing abuot the iPad so far.
Also new Macpros and MBP are coming out pretty soon, so I would suggest that the 10.6.3 will come out when:

- Valve has finished testing its platform port to Mac
- Apple has finished testing all of the neccesary drivers for the new PRO lines.

Additionally it will solve many small bugs that we are all experiencing, bugs related to USB, Wireless, remote Control , etc.

Cheers

This has been such an epic beta. It just keeps sticking around! Maybe we'll see a nice treat in Software Update tonight. I'm very curious why so much attention (on Apple's side) is being paid to this release. Why not release it a month ago and be a month into development for .4? It's a curious decision but I'm looking forward to bug fixes aplenty.

I hope this update will finally make my MacBook Pro have 8GB of RAM and gives it a 19 hour battery as well. Moreover, I do hope that when this is released, Apple will finally focus on the new iPod Shuffle and the Titanium Apple Remote. I'm sure the Apple Remote will have tethering albeit at an additional cost.

:D
(That would be sweet if the remote had a wireless chip in it and could tether through blue-tooth[or if it gave you a choice to use blue-tooth or IR sensor for front row])

This implies that there is something else wrong with your system, either other software recently installed or perhaps failing hardware. It wouldn't be something decaying in your current OS; it's not a head of lettuce.
It's the drivers in Snow Leopard. Hopefully 10.6.3 is going resolve the issue. It does not occur under Leopard or under Windows XP.

Or you might be imagining things just so you have something negative to post.
I'm not the only one.

i don't think they will update iTunes with OS X Updates, they haven't ever done that as far as i know, but i'm guessing we will soon see iTunes 9.1 soon :) i can't wait for iTunes X :D

If the Updates keep getting bigger already at 790 MB for the combo update according to Apple Insider. Apple will need to start sending out DVD Updates As 790 MB takes a long time on a 3Mb cable line :(

i feel for you matey, i'm at uni and my connection was botched and i get 80Mb connection (8mb download speed) but back home i have to put up with 1Mb connection :(

Therefore, you misstated the issue.

It's not really "getting worse" (sic). It simply continues to be unsatisfactory.

It is really is getting worse, your hardware is failing.

I'm glad Apple is working hard to make sure that there aren't any very obvious problems created by this update, but I'm not sure that we need to hear about every new seed at this point.

With prior updates, Apple released a small number of seeds before the update arrived, it seems as though they are being more thorough in the development process now.

I can't really be unhappy about that, especially if it leads to a reduction in release related glitches.

On my GMA950 mini, 10.6.2 is fine with a few small exceptions. On my X1600 iMac, the graphical glitches are annoying to the point of making it unusable. Since the iMac is perfectly fine under 10.4.11, 10.5.8 and Windows 7, Snow Leopard must be to blame.

Increased frequency of display errors is typical of failing graphics hardware.

I advise you to seek professional help. There is nothing we here can do to ameliorate your situation.

Good luck!

:)
As I said before it doesn't happen under Windows XP or Leopard. It's related to Snow Leopard and I'm very interested in graphic driver updates related to 10.6.3.

So it's not really happening "more frequently", is it? You are simply seeing graphics issues running OS X 10.6.2 and not on other operating systems.

That is plausible, but not the increased frequency. I believe there was a graphics driver regression on my 3+ year old MacBook introduced with Snow Leopard. However, I would never claim that it was happening "more frequently".

X1600 based 2006 Macbook Pro AND 2007 iMac here on my desk running 10.6.2, absolutely no graphical glitches.

What software are you running when the glitches happen?

First post of over a half decade long lurker!

I can't believe how long this update is taking, so many seeds. I hope that implies they're really squashing [almost] all problems that may arise. I see our current time table as a good indicator.

Cheers all.
