I'm betting it will be the fastest ever...

I'm not in the market for a laptop for the next year, so I will let the new gear come out and let the bugs shake out first.

If the standard keyboard, Olde-Tyme MagSafe rumors and additional port rumors are true, I may bite later next year.

The processor change will be my least concern. Performance bumps are always nice, don't get me wrong but and improvement in the form factor in so much as a shift to being practical as opposed to being as skinny and quiet as possible will be a welcome change.

The keyboard on my current late 2018 MBP sucks. I hate it. But I'm not going to upgrade for the sake of it. I'll wait a bit. Seems like every time Apple re designs their laptops, issues creep up.

Like in an old Plymouth....

Would love to know how much money Apple loses running a web shop on software from the 1990s. Never seen ANY other company's web shop go down. And yes, someone like Alibaba or Amazon sells a lot more items to a lot more customers than Apple. So size ain't it.
It's not for a technical reason. It's done deliberately as a marketing tactic ! As as soon as it opens, people order for FOMO.

Probably zero money lost and I doubt it is a technical issue. It seems to be part of their marketing strategy.

Damn I was just about to purchase a 16" intel MacBook Pro and the store is down 🤣 your loss Apple!

Just like clockwork.

Sure would be nice if something went off-script today.
At this time, I don't know if the script calls for releasing the NBP or the MBP. And maybe they are also deciding if to put black stickers or not in the last minute 😄

It's 2021 A. D., and Apple's online store still goes down the day they bring new inventory in. Living in the Amish paradise.
Do we have to have this discussion every time it happens? It's what Apple do. You might not trust Tim Cook to design a laptop, but I sure as hell don't see him sacrificing several hours of cash-rich online sales without some very lucrative payoff.

Go find a comparable example of a coordinated, multinational product launch with the same scale of public and media interest for comparison (not to mention the level of interconnection between product lines...), and find out what all the problems are... I can't really think of one - especially as new Apple products usually ship immediately or after a fairly short pre-order delay, even outside the US, versus the usual months wait between announcement and availability. The logistics must be horrendous...

Fingers crossed they release a new Mac mini. The current one wasn't powerful enough for me (and the Intel one got too hot), and I have 2 lonely screens waiting for a computer to attach to, as well as projects that need more work.

I hope that make it under £2000. or even £1500. An early Christmas present to me!

Heres to hoping 32-64-128 Gb Ram.
3 CPU / GPU variant options.
for Mini, MBP and iMac.
all that’s left then is mini MP and MP.
available to order today.
my dream machine, 43” iMac, 64 gigs of Ram, low to no fan noise at full load.

I was just trying to track my Apple Store order to see if it will arrive today. I love not being able to do it because of this 'marketing' crap.
Me too. Mine is scheduled for courier delivery today and I won't be able to track it unless it goes out after the store comes back up. I have the 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. delivery slot.

Hopefully the system will still be able to send a text notifying me it is out for delivery, at least.

My wife's on the phone right now requesting credit limit decreases on all my cards, should never have mentioned the keynote 😫
haha. Assuming you have the apple card you won't need a high limit since you can just purchase interest free monthly payments like the iPhone or even apple cases etc.

While less ram than my current 64gb MBP is okay, since I imagine the new ones will be so much more efficient. But worried that the new laptops won't offer as much storage. Currently have 8TB and worry the new ones will only be 4TB. I currently use a little over 4TB and could get beneath it but now I'd be constantly worrying about space.
