Online Orders for iPhone 5s Begin at 12:01 AM Pacific Time on Friday, September 20

No. No more lines. Not for an iPhone.

I waiting in line for the first one. It was wonderful.

I waited in line for the second one. It was wonderful.

I last waiting in line for the 4S. They ran out before they got to me. But surprisingly, my nearest store had a fresh supply in a couple days later.

So why the hell am I waiting in line?

It's not like I'm going to be the first kid on the block with the coolest kit anymore. It's a nice phone, but no, it's not worth hours of my time in line just for the privilege of having it a couple days before you.

:mad: I just confirmed with Apple that pre-orders of the iPhone 5S next Fri the 20th will NOT have the option to pick up in your local store. They will, instead, have to be shipped. The only way to get it on Sept 20th would be to wait in line....very lame.

Complete FAIL, Apple. They can kiss my ass. I'm not waiting in line so they can generate free "buzz".
 
Great phone but personally, I would rather wait until a 128 GB option becomes available. Apple have really dropped the ball when it comes to size capacities on their iOS devices. This is not 2008; they really should get back to doubling capacities with every major update.

The 4S is an astoundingly beautiful work of technological art, so I am really torn about trading mine in. Either way, I will be getting the 5s, it looks beautiful, just in another way.
 
Stopped into my local Target on my way home. The sales associate in electronics helped me register for my iPhone 5s/32gb/silver. He told me that I was the very first person to register at that store. He said the employees only found out about being able to take preorders/registrations yesterday, and they didn't even have any signage or anything. He gave me the printout confirming that I am registered, and a card with his name one it, but didn't require that I put any money down.

I kinda think my chances of getting my phone next Friday are slim, but I'd rather sleep in than stand in line so I wasn't expecting it anyway. UPS always seems to deliver when I'm not home and I have to drive an hour to the pickup after dinner. If I have to wait I think I'd rather be able to just grab it from Target at my convenience.

I suppose, though, since I didn't put money down or even verify my upgrade, I have the opportunity to look around Friday if I don't get the email confirming delivery.

Normally they separate store stock from warehouse stock.

But why would you need to wait in line? I thought these phones were a failure that no one would buy? :D

Seriously, so some might not have their new phone on 9/20. Wow first world problems. How in the world will they survive. :rolleyes:

You really want 128GB, settle for 64GB only to see Apple quietly release a 128GB version 2-4 months later (like with the iPad 4 earlier this year). Yeah, that would suck, maybe not as bad as a iPhone 6 release early next spring would suck, but it would still suck.

I think if they started coming out with main models & S models every 6 months instead of every year it would be the opposite of suck, but hey..... to each their own.

Lol at people so bitter that they don't want ANYTHING better than what they have to come out until the second THEY are ready for an upgrade.. selfish & self-absorbed much??

I think finger print reader on my phone is even more important in the second, more realistic, scenario.

Lol, you know that there are NO 128gb Android phones, yeah?
Samsung has started limited runs of 128gb ssd, with no announcement of when they will arrive. Please don't try to counter with that sd card bs either.... everybody here knows internal memory is far superior.
Double capacity every year? Ok, buddy... Sure this 7th iteration of iPhone should have 1 terabyte of internal memory (original 16gb doubled six more times).

Waiter!!! I'll have what he's smoking!

Agreed. The Apple media event was at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. In England that was 6pm in the evening on the same day so 8 hours ahead. The Apple stores in the UK will open their doors at 8am on the 20th......that's one minute before online orders in the states can begin
