since I have a life and a job i'll be waking up at 3am, ordering it, going back to sleep and waiting for it to come to me
Are you brainwashed into thinking that people need to work monday-friday 9-5 to be a working member of society?
How about people who have taken a vacation at work to stand in line (that has been me in the past), project employed (also been me in the past - I have been paid for a 3 month project, and I can work my own hours to get the project done in 3 months). They could have weekend jobs where they work Fri night - Sunday...and numerous others.
To stereotype all people who are not working on a Tuesday 2:00 in the afternoon as losers is very naive. Most successful people vacation and take time off all the time, and only work in spurts.
have a 5... cant justify getting the s just to upgrade the camera.. the rest is just icing on the cake... will wait till the 6...![]()
according to my wife, waking up at 3AM to preorder "a stupid phone" means you have no life.
You might want to double-check that you do, in fact, have one.
As well as nurses, they usually work like 3 days on 3 days off or similar schedules no matter weekday or weekends. And not to mention someone who has their own business and had worked hard to get to a point to have some financial freedom
The twice the speed of your 5 thing doesn't thrill you?
But seriously, I don't know why people with the previous year's phone think they're making some kind of big decision not to get the new one. This year it's 5 owners talking about the 5s not being good enough. Next year it'll be 5s owners talking about the 6 not being good enough while the 5 owners are raving about how good it is.
Most people are on two year contracts. Most people upgrade only after two years. Apple knows this. Most people know this. I don't know why anyone even considers an upgrade just one year later. Technology doesn't progress that fast. It never has. Do you throw away your computer every year and get a new one?
When are people going to realize that the latest and greatest is only an incremental update over the previous year's model, and that upgrades are meant to be on a two year cycle? It really serves no purpose to come here and point out when you're on the other cycle and won't be upgrading. Of course you won't be upgrading. You're on the other upgrade cycle. You won't notice any lack of speed on last year's model, and you'd be throwing away your money to upgrade now. For those with a 4S or older, this is a big upgrade and it makes financial sense. How is it so hard to understand the difference?
Which store does everyone think would be the best option to park myself at next week? Will the Apple Store have the most stock or will the AT&T store, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc. be OK?
Where did you get twice the speed?

As much as I'd love one just for the sake of having a new toy to play with, can't justify it over my current 4S. If there had been a 128GB option, I'd be all over it.

I have a hard time accepting responses like these. No offense to you or anyone, but... With resale value of the last iPhone 5. You can get (if you did it right away), over $300 back. I used Gazelle (there are other options, even Apple does it now, but for gift cards only at there stores). I am getting back for 2 iPhone 5 $660. That's $330 each. New iPhone 5s is $199 on contract. I'm making $131 on the deal per phone. It makes NooOOooooOOo sense to keep the old phone, not even for sentimental value, cause it works just fine and I don't "need" any more then that.
IDK, JMHO!!!![]()
Well, Samsung will need some material for their commercials. This should do.
Nothing says don't buy a product like pointing out how many people are willing to wait in line for one right?![]()

You're getting $330 for a 16GB iPhone 5 through Gazelle?
If not, you're comparing apples to oranges.

Sorry but to get those two iPhone 5's didn't you either have to commit to a 2 year contract (making the $199 on contract cost for the 5s not available to you) or pay the full unsubsidized price of $649 dollars leaving you with a loss of $ 319 per phone.

Exactly. There is really no benefit in keeping your old phone if you are on AT&T or Verizon. They don't offer any discounts on the monthly rates if you don't upgrade. I am more than satisfied with my iPhone 5 but it would be stupid to lose what amounts to a free upgrade when my contract runs out. I would have actually upgraded early and taken a slight hit but the fingerprint sensor isn't accessible by apps and isn't linked to NFC yet.I also have 2 extra lines on my account (4 total). I rotate between the 2 each time a new phone comes out (iPhone that is). Which has been each year so far. It's $10 extra per line each month. Even with that payment, I'm making $20 for doing so. Since these things aren't meant to last for 5 years like a computer does. They are cheap enough to get the process working (monthly costs being what they may, but if $20 extra is too much then, the iPhone shouldn't be what someone should purchase in the first place). I just don't think it is worth sticking with the older phone anymore. It's just too easy to sell the old one, and more then enough people ready to purchase it. You make money on the process (even just a little) and ALWAYS get a new phone.
