Negative, I have 2 extra lines (family plan my wife and I, plus 2 unused lines). Each line is $10 extra a month. So I get out of it about $20 at the end of selling my old phone. It's not much to jump up and down about, but I get the new phone at $199, and make it back at the time I sell it to start it all over again.
This works so long as I can sell it at such a price. And Gazelle has been very good at that for my last 2 phones. I'm sure there are other places, not trying to plug them or anything. But, just what I used and works for me.
That's a cool idea! Luckily my wife does not care to much about her phone so I use her upgrade and mine and pass my older phone down to her. So this year I use my own upgrade for the 5S, hand the 5 down to her (was her upgrade) and sell her 4S (which was originally mine.)
What we won't do to have the latest and greatest.
As if he would know. When had he ever accurately predicted anything related to Apple?Just read that Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek downgraded apple stock because the yield for the 5s are terrible and Apple will not be able to meet demand.
Soooo what color 5c will you be getting?

Apple's announcement, plus a few benchmarks that have already come out.

We have the exact same strategy, except this year it's my wife's upgrade that will get me the 5S.
Some people marry into money, I married into iPhones.
You're missing out. They're all the rage these days.Nah...I dont have a peanut factory. She doesn't ask for much but when I make a promise to anyone, I stick to it
The demand for the new iPhone 5c and 5s has been truly phenomenal in the first few days of pre-registration. We have already seen double digit growth in pre-registrations compared to the same period for iPhone 5 last year, and with the exceptional rate in which we are receiving these, we are predicting that the new handsets will set a record as generating the most pre-registrations ever at Phones 4u, said Scott Hooton, Chief Commercial Officer at Phones 4u.
He added: To date, this interest has also shown that 75 per cent are intending to purchase the new iPhone 5c or 5s on 4G, so not only are we expecting pre-orders of the iPhone 5c to go through the roof this weekend, we are gearing up for an exceptionally busy launch day on 20th September, when both officially go on-sale at Phones 4u stores across the country and online.
As much as I'd love one just for the sake of having a new toy to play with, can't justify it over my current 4S. If there had been a 128GB option, I'd be all over it.
I think gold will be very popular too. It's going to be a novelty. It's a tasteful gold but I'd never, ever, buy an iPhone in that color.
according to my wife, waking up at 3AM to preorder "a stupid phone" means you have no life.
You might want to double-check that you do, in fact, have one.
A novelty? I love it! I think it's really classy! But a new colour will definitely sell well.
And so begins the mass exodus from Apple begins...
I have a hard time accepting responses like these. No offense to you or anyone, but... With resale value of the last iPhone 5. You can get (if you did it right away), over $300 back. I used Gazelle (there are other options, even Apple does it now, but for gift cards only at there stores). I am getting back for 2 iPhone 5 $660. That's $330 each. New iPhone 5s is $199 on contract. I'm making $131 on the deal per phone. It makes NooOOooooOOo sense to keep the old phone, not even for sentimental value, cause it works just fine and I don't "need" any more then that.
IDK, JMHO!!!![]()
It's nice to know that there are people out there without a job who are receiving financial support from their parents.

Just got back from Target. I was only the 2nd person to place the "pre-order" from that location, so this doesn't seem to be that well publicized.
What the rep told me is that they are taking pre-orders over the next several days. They'll then use that order to submit to the warehouses and hope to fill the order. Once the phone arrive (presumably the 19th), they'll email customers to let them know that the phone arrived and that they have 48hrs to pick up their phone (obviously can't pick it up before the 20th). If you don't pick it up, it goes to the next person on the list.
Anyone familiar with iPhone4U? Just wondering if this is an outlier or indicative of what sales will be.
iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C demand truly phenomenal
