Yes and it's 4.7. Don't we already know it.
5.5 is a bait for samsung to launch their S6 in the larger size and fail.

GN series is a huge success, what makes you think a few more inches in size will make it a failure?

I personally wouldn't buy 5.5" iPhone myself (especially if the resolution remains the same as smaller counterpart), but I wouldn't dismiss the validity of 5.5" iPhone market.

Although 5.5" iPhone would look ridiculous in comparison to 4.7" iPhone, many folks I know use their smartphone more as a tablet than a phone. And some folks have poor eye sight so having a larger screen makes a natural sense (larger font setting on iOS isn't the same since that comes at the expense of reduced real estate).

5.5" is a form factor that fits in a large jacket pocket or a purse and I personally would not have a problem with Apple making 4", 4.7", and 5.5" iPhone models.

Personally I am definitely interested in a larger screen. Moving from a larger screen android to a smaller iPhone screen definitely was painful, so a larger screen is definitely beneficial. I think the 4.5" size sounds good, but I will reserve judgment until I get to see and use both, if both are released.

Lol, please look at market sales facts.

You do realize Samsung has released a very popular line of Galaxy Note phones that are larger then 4.7 and even 5.5. Please realize its Apple that is catching up to the "size" game, not Samsung. Apple is losing market to the much more varied and wider assortment of Samsung phones because Samsung realized a long time ago that one size does not fit all as Apple has forced on consumers.

Even if there is no individual Samsung model that outsells the iPhone, Samsung typically ships more phones overall then Apple does every quarter and it is due to understanding that the market values variety more then conformity.

Many don't want a 5.5" phone.
Apple aren't doing a 5.5" phone.
Simple.

Many didn't want a fingerprint sensor.
Apple didn- oh wait...

That doesn't mean anything, and there are people who want a 5.5" phone. :)

Stopped reading at "rather than June". Apple has not released a iPhone in June since the iPhone 4. The 4S, 5 and 5S were released in September/October.

It's still a possibility they could announce/release in June/July. Thing is, we aren't Apple so we're all basically acting as an analyst as well. I'm going with Sepember/October release, but would like a release date for June/July more lol.

Absolutely ridiculous! It's like holding an iPad mini up to your head lol

Actually, I was just having that conversation with my daughter this weekend; Apple could release a 4.7" iPhone 6 and give the iPad Mini the capability to also make/receive phone calls (for folks who want a phablet). Problem solved!

I'm inclined to believe some of you purchase your clothes at Gap Kids

I'm just looking forward to all the people praising how amazing their phone's display is and how they can see everything so much better and that it just makes perfect sense to use a phone "this" size. It might be fun to then then cross-reference those praises to those who mocked Android phone sizes and complain about their pockets or holding up an iPad to their ear to make a call.

4.7 please, thank you.

What the title says. I think apple line-up should be iPhone 6 4.7 inch screen, starting at $199 the 32GB version, $299 for 64GB and $399 for the 128GB version, and leave iPhone 5S 4 Inch screen 16GB for those who want the smaller screen at $99.

They are gonna make devs angry by changing screen size so often...

Noooo please make a smaller model

I've got small hands, guys. This has caused me to skip the iPhone 5 and 5s, hoping they'll make a size similar to my 4s (and that mine won't break before then...). Please Apple, give us small-handed people who rely on our iPhones a chance to survive. I'd be forever grateful !!

Really? WTF is your definition of often because it doesn't mean what you think it means.

Can you name the # of times Apple has changed screen sizes so far since 2007?

Yahhhhhhh

----------

Yeah! When have they ever done that,

besides the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c?

Um...that's not form factor in terms of screen size...you know that right?

That's a good one. You know the majority of those shipped units are returned to sender if they don't sell....meaning Samsung has to take them all back if the end retailer doesn't sell them.

IMO, a 4.95" screen [ like that on Nexus 5 ] would be perfect for the iPhone, and not just elongated like the iP5/5S !!

1280x720 would have the same aspect ratio as the current 4" iPhones, and would deliver a nearly-identical PPI at 4.7."

1280x720 at 5.5" would have a nearly identical PPI to the full-size iPad.

What's the math on a 4.4" or 4.5 inch" with PPI?

Apple is going to do exactly that...make a size that developers can just upscale their apps to without major effort.

Tech I want is still too Star Trek™ . I want a 5S sized body, with a screen that can expand (holographic, or in reality) as needed.

I like viewing larger screens at times, I just don't want to carry one around.

When you start increasing phone size like that - I'm not sure "scaling" is the best method for the best UI.

Too bad "foldable" screens don't exist either. And by foldable - I mean paper this and can fold/unfold automagically to give you various screen sizes :)

Not, it's really not. Having one device on the go to be productive is a great advantage that many people want. Phones do way more than just make calls now days.
