Rang CS to register it. She did that. She told me to turn the phone off for a couple hours... Then back on...and I'll get the messages and delete them.

Using an old Nokia. Do I have to turn it off or will it start workin and finding signal if I leave it on? The new nano sim is in the Nokia via an adapter...

No Orange NANO SIM, just a text message saying they have none but the operator said it had been sent?

Curiouser and curiouser!

I can see I will be going with 3 on this.

Go into a store or call them. Three seem to have been the most organised of any of the networks.

I ordered mine online and it arrived in the next mornings post. Type "3 Nano sim" in to Google. Then click iPhone plans.

I had dispatch email last night, I've checked today to see if there is any further info (living in hope it might have come today) but sadly not.

First person to post a pic of their phone wins!

Cheers guys.

I called them and a chap (in India) said he could send me one for free but it would take four days. Or I could go in store and for £5.14, get a replacement nano sim.

I went into store and was given a nano sim for free - with an adapter!

Perfect. I'm still waiting for my nano sim cutter that I bought on eBay to arrive to cut a few GiffGaff SIMs. The nano really is thin, thinner than a Micro SIM. It's fragile.

Just waiting for the iP5 to arrive tomorrow! Does anyone remember how to translate an Apple UPS tracking number to one that the UPS website would recognise?

All the best,

Mike

So you went into an Orange store and they gave you a NANO SIM?

I wonder why they text me then to say they have not got any?

Just use the "tracking number" instead of the apple one. On your confirmation email click on 'track my order'. Then click on 'track' above the order on the screen that opens up. About halfway down the new screen you'll see the actual ups number. Enter this into the website.

Mine worked, and it says it went out for delivery at 5.50 this morning, but it also says that delivery will be 'by the end of the day'.

I just called Orange, their options for routing your call weren't very good none of them really said "to order a new type of SIM card from us press X" but I went into account changes and eventually got an answer, and in 7 minutes and 53 seconds from dialling the number it was done, new nano SIM on the way :D

Did anyone else get a Text from Orange saying they do not have any SIMs until today?

Seems like they were not telling the truth!

To be used in evidence later.

Just to let people know, I swapped my orange micro sim to a nano one about 10 mins ago in my iPhone and it took orange less than two mins to move everything across.

My iPhone 5 just arrived! I can confirm that cutting down a micro sim works just fine, you don't need to make it any thinner. My nano sim didn't arrive so I just cut down my old one, and it works perfectly.

I'm hoping the SIM arrives today from Orange. Not into cutting (just in case) so fearing it's a stupid question is it fine to get the phone up and running via WIFI or am I advised to wait till I put a SIM in first?
If I get the delivery early I may well bolt down to the nearest Orange shop to see if they have any spare SIMS - Don't even want to think how busy they'll be in Canary Wharf lunch time though....!

I would imagine they would be like ants around honey! Good luck!

Good to know a pair of good ole lo tec scissors is the real solution for the NANO NANO problem!

woohoo my nano sim just arrived. Quick question, I did the simswap on youraccount.orange.co.uk - will this be okay or do I actually need to ring them? It said it was successful but just wanted to check :)

Cheers!

Its arrived! The iphone that is, no sign of the Orange SIM.

So, out with the scissors and hey presto! We are in business.

Some point to watch:-

It does not matter if you cut into the gold plated contacts, the chip is tiny in the middle.

If you cut it too small it may move about when you snap the caddy shut and it will still say "No Sim".

It takes a few seconds to recognise when the SIM is actually present with the phone powered up.

It goes from "No SIM" to "No Service" then to whichever carrier O2 3 etc.
Takes a while sometimes.

I initially cut the sim too small but there is no problem with that, just cut a tiny piece of sellotape and stick it over the back and overlap the edge of the caddy and it works fine, can slide in and out OK as there is plenty of clearance.

:):)

Saints be praised! The Orange SIM (that they texted me to say was not available) just arrived!

Popped it in but the Orange website and phone activation were not working, probably overloaded so rang the 0800 number to activate.

My nano sim just arrived too. Is there any benefit to using it? My micro sim cut down seems to be working just fine.

Automated system did not work for me, CSR told me I needed to leave the phone switched off for 24 hours

Left it 15 mins with old SIM, wanged it into flight mode... "emergency calls only" .... Nice!

Swapped sims, ....two text messages ... Jobs a goodun.

Apart from I don't have an adapter so the sim is just held in to the temporary phone by friction. LOL... So far all ok.

Just wondering if they asked you your Nano Sim card number, the guy i just spoke with at CS asked my mobile number and then said that's it.

I asked if he needed new Sim number but he said No ?

Orange shipped my sim today. They said id get it by tuesday latest.

:D!

Though.. If **** with them carries on, im off to 3!

I can't see how he could know what the SIM number was, did it work?

A lot of C.S workers get confused when you ask them questions as they are trained like robots :)

If you call up 150, then use options, 1, 2, 2, 2 then when connected just ask for a "Sim Swap". They will know what this means.

I do this on a regular basis for our customers in retail :)
